Roger that, 5100s using just the bottom clip (or 4600s) is all I'm interested in; let coils provide "lift" -- but given that, tell me again how much lift the 4Runner or Tundra coils provide when used in our 1st Gens?

Grey wire MOD, deck plate, diff breather MOD, 2nd gen. OME 883# on Tundra 5100's, OMD custom 3" leafsprings, rear shock relocation, Ivan Stewart TRD rims w/285/75/16's, '02 bumper MOD, Famous Fabrications sliders , LED interior/exterior lights, bed bar, Custom tube bumper, Old school KC day lighters,Red Ring 8" HID flood, Kenwood vhf 2M.. umm some other shit I'm forgetting right now
I'm not sure on that one , but if replacing coils I'd just go OME 880# series , I prefer the Eibach/toytec coil for 3" lift but they are stout & don't settle nearly as much as the OME's.

As far as comparing 4runner /tundra coils if you just have some laying around or if they were freebies & just want to play around with them as far as results go I'd be interested in your results

They may be the same height as stock 1st gens, just don't know ...

I believe tundra coils will provide a small amount of lift.

And i think the runner springs should be same as tacomas, height wise.

No first hand experience here, just tid bits ive picked up here and there. But i could be wrong....

Yes the tundra and 99 4runner coils are around 600lb spring rate. Stock 1st gen are progressive and around 450lb BUT the first inch is like a noodle.
Tundra and 99 4runner give you about 1/2 lift from brand new 1st gen. Used tacoma coils you are going to get about an inch. To fender lip my truck sits at 36.8 inch. Same with my buddy's wife's 4runner.

The 99 4runner voiles are 9 turns and bigger dia wire then the tacomas.
I didn't go with the Old Man Omu coils because a couple local guys were telling me they sagged quickly.
The tundra bilstiens are valved different and they have 5 adjustments.

Sorry for the hijack. It's just once the rears work like they should the fronts weakness become the problem. They should be addressed together.

Hello, new member on here (I'm on a dozen or so other car forums, this is my first time here), anyways I bought these same leaf springs and from General Spring here near me in KS to replace my rusted out saggy ones (they were so rusty and flattened out that we had to cut the old ones out).

Well, I got the brand new leaf springs installed and they sit about 1" lower than my worn out ones that I replaced, so now my front sits much higher than my rear end.

The truck has zero lift on it, and the only reason I replaced the leaf packs was so it would finally sit "Level" front to back.

Have any of you seen this problem before with brand new General Leaf Springs sitting lower than worn out inverted springs?

Mine set quite a big higher in the rear until they settled some. There is no way they should be sitting lower.

Some pix of how the springs are attached at both ends and at the axle might help diagnose. Presumably the OEM spring shackle was used. You didn't manage to put the springs beneath the axle?

Here is some terrible night pics, but you will get the idea.

The daylight pic is with the rusted collapsed leaf springs, the night pic is with the new leaf springs, lower in the rear for some reason.

And the front's not lifted ... no spacers? Those Ranchos ... they aren't the 9000 series upfront? The adjustable ones that lift? Just checking, not claiming that's the case.

That is correct, just factory replacement Rancho's, no spacers or lifts on the front or rear.

I snapped a couple pics on my lunch break before the sun went down today. The front sits about 1.5" higher than the rear with the brand new leaf springs.

If I do a 1.5" block to make the truck sit Level, will I be able to use the shocks (its not like I'm doing a 3" or something)?

your rear leaf looks like it is bent at the shackle. but looking at the generalkc site it is correct

and is the day pic with the new Rancho's or without?

also when I did my new suspension the front is still a little higher than the rear, even after 1500 miles. may just take time to settle, the rears sit flat right away.

The factory replacement Rancho's were on it when I bought the truck about a month ago. They are just basic RS9000 shocks.

I can tell by your measurements that thee front has some sort of lift. I have 5100's set at 1.25" and 265/75's and sit right at 36 1/2" in the front.

This is the info I was wondering. Sounds like a 1.5" block will level things out. Can I reuse my rear shocks since its only a 1.5" block?

Thanks for all the help and feedback, I am really enjoying this Forum!

Probably be ok if your not going to be flexing out the suspension.
