I've been hearing stories about our flimsy tailgates but you know what I have had two friends sitting on it each around 230-250 no problems. I just moved two huge doctor examination tables (don't ask, selling em for a friend) that must've weighed 3-450lbs each and a lot of that weight was on the tailgate as it was open to fit them in the back due to the tight wheel well width and again no issues.

Not sure what everyone is doing to their gates to smash them but mine appears to be holding up so far to abuse. Anyway there's my 2 cents.

Glad there are no issues. No problems with mine either. Just feels light and flimsy in comparison to my nissan tail gate which was much heavier and beefier. Do wish it had a lock as well.

They fixed them in 2008. Still not exactly the strongest tailgate tho

Yep, KB VooDoo's tailgate cap makes a huge difference on my '07; I still use a piece of plywood for shoring when I load/transport my ATV in the bed. Relentless Fab does a full cover that fixes it completely, but shipping costs up here to AK were beyond my acceptable level.
