    Hey guys

I'm selling my truck to help pay for school and I'm wondering where to price it.

    Four wheel drive
    2008
    Black
    Topper
    V6
    Automatic
    Power locks/windows
175,000 miles, but it's in pretty nice shape

Assuming I entered all of the info correctly, Blue book said $8500 and NADA said $11000. I'd like to get $10,000 or more, but am not sure whether that's realistic

If you want 10 grand then ask 10 grand, the worst that will happen is someone will offer less.

If it were me I'd be looking at what similar trucks in the area are listed for. If you ask 10k but there are several similar for 8500, you're not likely to get much interest. If there aren't any for sale localy then maybe it's a sellers market and you can ask a little more.

Welcome to TW. Sad first post, but got to do what you got to do.

Look up what similar trucks go for in the medium you plan on listing it. If you plan on using craigslist, look at what similar ones go for one craigslist. Tacomas have the highest resale out of any vehicle in the US, so KBB will be notoriously low and will not reflect actual market value.

It's all about presentation. Clean the truck inside and out or even pay to have it detailed. Then take detailed pics inside and out while it's clean and shiny. I don't know where you are but here in the PNW you could probably list that truck for $13-15k and it would probably sell even with the high mileage. Especially if you have maintenance records.
