It was epic! Some of the toughest trails I have ever ran my truck through. I drove over a thousand mile in 5 days, lots of winching, challenging steep trail, and met some great people too! Our team placed second out of 20 teams, so that helped add to the experience. And much cheaper then VOT! Who was your friend riding with?

Not sure, was a white FJ I think because that's mostly the pics he posted. His name is Ben.

Ha ha I met those guys! They both had white FJs on their team. Alot of FJs and Jeeps, couple Nissans, only 3 tacos, no Land Rovers. The best part of the event was the Toyotas had no mechanical issues. The Jeeps and Nissans on the other hand...

Yeah now that I am looking into it this looks fun as hell. Had no idea events like this exist. If I can't do Moab next year, I definitely will at least be doing this.

Here's the alignment specs from Toyota, although they mean crap to me when I can clearly see that the fronts are still not right.

Don't take 'Before' as anything special since I just had the lift installed and it was out badly from that.

Caster isn't too bad. Camber and toe are way out. Better get that fixed before you wear out those tires!

    :crapstorm:

Am I the only one who aligns his truck using one of these, some straight edges and some measuring tape?

    spin_prod_1291539412_zpsxut8ruyy_ada431657f008c0297151a78f57bdd6f241347d7.jpg

I measured (roughly) the caster and camber pre-lift off the knuckle then set it back to (roughly) the same after the lift an throwing on the UCA's. Toe is basically 0 according to some straight edges and a measuring tape. I've done it this way three times, once with 885's, the 886's and now 886's with the 1/4" spacers. In all it's been at least 18k miles and wear is even and the handling is predictable without any pulling or darting. It either works well enough or I should be buying lottery tickets :notsure:

The guys at the NTB in Franklin Mills. The sales guy is in the 215 Jeep club and they understand how shit needs to be. I get the alignment deal so I go whenever I need it.

What is acceptable for 1.75" lift (0* camber, 0* toe, 2.5* caster)? Getting mine done this week. Thanks.

You want 0 toe, as far forward caster as you can get [in the 3 range]. And 0 to a slightly negative camber.

I've used it for tire pressure/contact patch but never tried it for alignment. I take it the idea is generally the same - looking for an even footprint from inside to outside of the tire for camber and no smearing indicating out of toe? Doesn't sound like it could tell you anything about caster though, no?
