I bet there is a reason that airing the tires down voids the warranty.

Any time some company says using their product in a specific way voids your warranty, but then goes on to tell you who has done it and its going to be fine is shady as shit to me.

Crawling I wouldn't be concern with in the slightest, only trusting my life to a tire that the company won't stand behind aired down. I go too fast to run a tire that may not perform under those conditions.

Is it possible to weld spindles with a stick welder and 7018 rod? Or does it have to be mig. Of course with the pre heat.

 

You don't need to preheat forged steel but it doesn't hurt anything if you do.

 

You should always preheat super larger chunks of steel before welding small pieces to them. That way the full thing is hot instead of suddenly making part of it very hot and causing warp.

 

Did anyone see the new commercial for the 2016 tacoma? Its a bunch of dirtbikes and the tacoma goes from the highway to offroad in the desert (looks like barstow or ocotillo), and the trdpro is doing the mid travel thing while a bunch of bikes do wheelies and hit a few jumps.

With the weather cooling down im getting the itch to get out to the desert

I bet every other tire mfg has something similar on the books, it's a cover your ass type of deal.

 

I spent 30 minutes this morning searching BFG, Goodyear and General and didn't find anything on their sites about it. Unless my google kung fu was off.

I could imagine that Treadwright could tell by tread separation if the tire was aired down.

 

I deal with retreads daily at work, most rear tires on semitrucks are retreads. The number one cause for tire blowouts on them is running low psi. Not saying that it will happen on a lighter weight truck, but something to be aware of
