Get 5" or 6" Ovals I had them on my 15 and my wife could not reach the body panels with her Honda CRV in the garage...although she tried. They stopped at the Nerf Bars They were Toyota branded. I likely witk go after market and save $100 or so on the 16. I'm still looking for confirmation the mounts are the same as the Gen 2

My steps just came in today. I ordered the n fab T0580CC - TX. Im working 12 hour shifts these days so i wont have them on til later tonight, but ill confirm the fit.

 

OEM Running Boards

Oops....this is 3rd Gen section.

 

I got bolt-on sliders for just a little more than a set of nerd bars would have run me.




I'd venture to say that these wouldn't be of much use for steps if your truck is super lifted but my 5'3" wife loves them.

GO Rhino 6" black are on my short list......but I am liking the OEMs above....

 

I like the look of the OEM's too but I've heard they're pretty flimsy.

 

What brand are these. If I do anything this will be it. Serve two purposes. I understand that are not for serious off roading. But in the snow and debris they will be fine.

Don't want to loose ground clearance, but if I feel I need to have something it will have to serve a function. IMO I like the look with nothing on the sides. But I understand being vertically challenged

 

Mine are SOS Off-road Concepts sliders with the optional kick-outs. Your dual purpose reasoning was exactly why I got these over need bars or steps.
Eddy is a great guy to work with and the peace of mind is worth every penny.

 

I was pissed off about Toyota putting those Predator steps on my truck. $649 retail for those overpriced friggen things. I tried to get the dealer to take them off and credit me back for them but they said it was illegal to do that. Whatever.....I took em off and bolted em on my 05 sport. I looked online and you can buy the exact same set for $200 and some dollars.

If you're referring to the OEM running boards, they are not flimsy at all, there is aluminum under the plastic covers. I use them all the time for putting on and removing my canoe. Now they aren't sliders and I didn't buy them to use as sliders....but for pure running board use (as well as door ding & gravel protection too), they are rigid.

Yeah, just something I heard, should have said I have no personal experience with them.

 

Just realized I posted and didn't realize this was in the 3rd Gen forum. I stand by my statements that sliders are a good option but I don't know if many fabrication shops have gotten their hands on any 2016's to confirm they share the same frame set-up.
