Hi, just got a 2012 CPO last week, I'm really enjoying it so far. I'll have to post a picture here later.

Wanted to ask since I'm new to the forum - one thing I notice is what sounds to be gear whine when at highway speeds. I should verify if it happens in 4th gear also, but in 5th gear around 55-60 mph I hear a slight drone whine when I tip lightly into the throttle. It seems to die down when I coast. Any one else ever experience this?

    Thanks!

Mine does the same if I'm interpreting what you're describing correctly. What I like to call the "power band" for the 4cyl, at least mine anyways, seems to be above 2500 rpms ... heavy acceleration/loading the drivetrain below 2500 rpms and the engine seems to bog a little. If I need to accelerate quickly while running below 65 mph, I downshift to 4th. Hope that makes sense.

Ha ha, I see what you did. Nice phrasing. :)

No, this is during light throttle tip-in at around 2k rpm, very light load. It's high pitch hum. Nothing major, just noticeable enough during level travel on cruise control that I wish it weren't there. :) It disappears some when I get more into the throttle or coast. If it's not a pervasive problem to others than maybe it's just the way it is with mine! Great truck though.

    Hi again!

Here are some things I'd like to do, if anyone wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction? I'm looking for a set of 2015 SR package black 16" wheels. With or without newish tires. None available on site. Anyone have any recommendations?

Also I'd like to replace the rusty cap screws at the bed of the truck. Is there any online guidance and part #'s I could buy? I looked around but am too new to find the info here. ;)

Next, the prior owner scratched the radio surface in the plastic above the screen. I have the basic non-Nav radio. Has anyone replaced the radio face - is a used assembly expensive (over $150?) and is the process difficult?

Adding fog lights- is wiring in place, run up to the dashboard? Or is adding lights difficult?

Last (whew!) I'd like to chase down a mysterious creak that sounds to emanate from the plastic trim between the driver door and access cab door (near the seatbelt belt pulley area). Is this a typical Tacoma thing? When I test drive, the truck was vault silent for creaks and cracks and I want to resume to that. :)

Pardon the hundred questions. I am a member of another similar site for another car and can navigate and find answers to my questions blindfolded but would appreciate a head start from anyone willing here. Thanks ahead of time!!

If anybody's reading, I am ideally looking for a set of these. Can not post a WTB ad until I have 50 postings (sheesh!).

    Thanks for looking!
