I think I knocked my toe off a little bit out playin saturday lol. My driver side looks to be out a little more than the passenger side. I also need to get my spiral cable replaced as that went out and I looked at my service history and I THINK my truck has gotten the recall for it already so I cant get a free one lol. My airbag light is on and my cruise control doesnt work lol

Gonna get a list going here for this weekend (just copy and paste with your name added)

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
If anybody is in the area and wants to help out. There's a benefit truck show/meet at Twisted Suspension in Panama City on the 17th. My friend was in a bad accident and lost part of his leg and arm. A dyno will be on site, food, maybe music. All that's asked is a $10 donation for his medical costs and if you wanna run the dyno, but I forget how much that costs.

@Alfuh Hopefully we weren't the cause of that spiral cable when the steering shaft was disconnected. I wish we had secured the wheel first.

I might be down for Sunday.

Go see if the dealer will fix it, otherwise it's almost $300 for OE and $100 for a Dorman.

only problem is looking at my service record on Toyota.com with my VIN, I think my truck already had the spiral cable replaced as there was a section on there for a "Recall Campaign" and the only ones available for mine is the frame inspection and leafspring recall

so @BadBrains I think after hearing what you had to say about the lockers and stuff.....I myself may just go with a Detroit over an ARB but still get the compressor to air the tires up

The spiral cable/clock spring was an NHTSA campaign, so not sure it would show up, and not sure about an expiration on it. Just have to ask to find out.

Just be aware of lockers, and their "temperament". You need to be off the throttle as you round a corner or else they'll snap, pop and chirp your tires. Just don't expect a smooth, quiet, factory experience. ARB's give you both worlds, however with ARB's you need the compressor which adds a level of possible failure...you've heard this argument from me already.

If I don't go 8.4 with a Detroit, I've been eye-balling this gadget from Chilkat to upgrade the e-locker.

Ive heard of the e-locker failures. I had one in my 03 and never had an issue. Are most of the failures related to the locker not engaging or is there an issue with the actual locker as well? Either way that cable kit looks like a cool product.

Solenoid going out, solenoid stuck, factory only allows it to engage in 4 low, 8.0 vs the larger 8.4, bash the solenoid on a rock.

You can remove the solenoid and lock the rear by hand, but what a pain in the ass.

If you take care of it, it's just fine, and I'm not recommending everyone get a Detroit full-time locker lol. Everyone's needs/wants are different.

lol nah, I have the 8.4 hehe

ya I'll have to ask them about it

oh im completely aware of how the Detroit acts and functions around corners, which after thinking about your side of the argument, kinda leading me to want to get the Detroit over the ARB even though I can choose when I want the ARB....just dont really want to have to worry about airlines getting damaged or anything

alright, so I guess my alignment was NOT thrown off offroading last weekend, it was just me and how I looked at it I guess. But with these new tires, and new steering rack, id rather be safe than sorry. So alignment was good, found out my truck already had the spiral cable replaced, so I gotta get one myself here soon and replace it. I also test drove a 2016...and oh man....it was nice, really nice. If I hadnt modded out my truck at all.....I would have traded on the spots and got it...it was awesome.

You wheelin Sunday Felix? I know I wanna go again! The only downside about where Chris and I went for that big open area was the more narrow trail to get to it. If you don't want superficial scratches on your beautiful '16 I'll bring some clippers and get the overhangers. I hope that doesn't come off sarcastic or anything!
