Within $50 of truecar invoice (plus ttl. No other fees). I ask the question since truecar shows the regional fee where others dont, and it is so high for my zipcode. So either I'm being offered $50 over invoice or $1100 over invoice, depending on "regional fees." The invoice the dealer shows me on their screen pretty much matches trucars including the regional fee....I'm just wondering if it is real or "what is shown" if that makes sense.

My truecar estimate showed the cost of the car then when broken down it also added in the dealer fee. The truecar price was about 500 over actual invoice from the numbers on here and then dealer fee of 599 (which Im going to try and haggle down)

Good to know. Didn't realise it included dealer fee (also $599). So current offer minus $599 would be decent.

Downloaded the app so I could get identical screens to yours...

Once on these screens I no longer see invoice prices. The certified dealer discount line doesn't match invoice pricing. My dealer isn't on there, but the one I chose has $1100 "guaranteed savings"...on a $38350 OR+DCSB+JBL+TOW.

Still not sure if the dealer fee is included in the regional fees shown on the previous screens that show invoice pricing.

My goal is to get rid of the dealer fee or at least get it reduced to what it is in my state. I am also going to press hard on them to give me either black book or NADA clean trade value for my 14. Best offer so far for my trade was 28k sight unseen, in writing. Another dealer gave me the auction list and said to expect around that which was 28,600-28,900. According to the sheet I got from another dealer, with TDA my truck I want is about 36,000. If I can get to that as my OTD price plus TTL and at least 28,500 for my trade, I will be in good shape.

You have the invoice price listed at the beginning of this thread. You can decide if you are getting the deal you want, or not. It sounds like you are missing 900 dollar destrination fee if it isn't included in the regional fee because it is NOT part of the MSRP

the 900 destination fee is part of the MSRP. The only thing that is not included in the MSRP is the dealer processing fee, which varies by state or dealership. I have the invoice cost from the beginning of this thread as well as my post on page 16 which shows the dealer cost the exact vehicle I want. It even breaks out TDA and hold back for that particular dealer. At the end of the day Im about invoice + 1000 or so

The Truecar Factory Invoice is wrong. The TRD OFF ROAD Automatic Invoice is $30,893.00. Do not let them sell you on that Invoice!

The government says that Destination fee cannot be included in the MSRP because it is a cost being shared among all buyers. If Truecar is adding it to the MSRP, then their MSRP is too high and they are making it look like you are saving more when you are saving 900 dollars less than what they show

That cost is not shared among all buyers. Every new Tacoma has a 900 destination fee which you pay. Different regions have different fees. So invoice + destination fee is a good ballpark about where you should be cost wise. Im about 500 over invoice + destination fee. The MSRP for the truck is correct, and then there is the cost that truecar provides

The first one is a page directly from the dealership that shows the dealer (invoice) cost and the MSRP side by side. The second is the truecar quote. It breaks out the 900 destination charge and shows line by line what you save

Right here you say that the 900 destination is a part of the MSRP.

It is not a part of MSRP, as you said yourself in your last two posts

You have base MSRP and then total MSRP with all the crap on it. Most dealers will leave the destination fee off when quoting you a price to make it seem more appealing. In my case the $2400 off msrp is really 2400 off msrp. Not 1500 off because there is still an extra 900 hiding somewhere as you have suggested.

Edit: By breaks out I mean it shows you what all is in the pricing. Including accessories at MSRP and the dealer fee. The total MSRP for a vehicle includes all the accessories and the destination fee. This is also what people refer to as the "Sticker". The only fees that usually stay hidden until the end are the dealer processing fee they like to throw on there. Maybe this will help you understand better since the numbers on the documents don't seem to work for you

I checked Toyota's website. I was able to build a TRD sport ACLB with a V6 and 5-speed manual but the same truck is not available with a California zip code?

    **6 speed manual.

And that means they don't have the exact truck you want available in that area atm. The builder will only let you build what's available near the zip code entered.

Eventually we should be able to get anything anywhere but demand is higher than supply for now.

I have a firm offer from a dealer for a new 2016 Access Cab 4 x 4 TRD OffRoad. Includes the Technology package, the towing package, destination charge, and a ridiculous doc fee ($589) for $34,589. Still too high but we have not started a serious negotiation. The attachment is as high as I will go but looking for less.

Probably about as good as you're gonna get. They offered you 27,500 on your trade? Thats pretty legit. Im trading my 14 DCSB Sport 4x4 with 23k miles and hoping to get 28,500-29,000.

Those regional fees are a mofo tho. Looks like OTD you're only 100 over their invoice so definitely not gonna get much better than that. I'm around 36,400 on a build with a similar MSRP. Except mine is non-JBL but has the long bed so it cancels out
