Official Helicopter Enthusiasts Thread

So, my dad is a helicopter pilot and works on airborne video surveillance systems all over the world.

I wanted to start a thread for helicopter enthusiasts to post some photos and stories about helicopters you might work with or have seen around.

They are great machines and I'm lucky to be around them when with my dad. I hope to see some cool photos!

 

My dad is in the Phoenix area this week working with the Mesa Police Department.

we use helicopters all the time. spent about a month in montana this summer tied in with a helitak crew working as a crew member. always a good time. worked with a nice little bell 407

 

Pretty cool, I always wondered if Police Pilots were uniformed as regular police men haha

Our local pilot is not LEO. He is, however, a heli pilot.

I'm a flight paramedic. Here's some pictures of helicopters that I've worked on around the world.

 

Subbed! LVMPD's "arsenal", 22 total aircraft, not including new drones My father has been with Metro for 18 years, hasn't been in Air Unit itself, but they have proved helpful every time someone went missing. I have 40 hours myself, still trying at private licence.

I was actually looking into taking some courses a few month back, prices for the courses were outrageous haha.

my dad said the searchlight has mechanical stops that keep it from pointing at the skids or the camera so it doesn't burn them up!....wow!....that's bright & hot!
