I think this is the stuff i used. I have it at the house for general purpose. Window, doors, drilling holes in my truck..... It goes on white and dries clear.

The only benefit to having Leer do it is it is covered under warranty. If you do it yourself and it leaks they don't care. That being said it is easy to do.

Alright guys.... so i am going to be redoing my suspension. I have added the OME D29XL's and flipped my rear shackles. I ordered ATO's upgraded shackles today and got to thinking about my whole suspension set up. In order to maximize my down travel in the rear i need longer shocks. Wheelers offers the 5100's in a long travel configuration (16.34″collapsed X 27.28″extended). So i started looking into the fronts as well. The mentality of "well if im going to be order stuff... might as well do it all"..... I am currently running the ome 886's in the front which are a little to stiff for my need so I am thinking of going to the 885's paired with the 5100s. Just want to get some feedback from everyone one these things.... Thanks in a advanced.

If you want the most droop go with a shock relocation. My 12" travel kings extended are just over 31". Just so happens there's a group buying going for them right now

Ditch the AAL and ATO shackles for rubicon express XJ shackles. Adds the height you want and increases droop.

The reason i did the AAL was for load carrying capacity not really for lift. The rear bumper, shell, rack, RTT, spare tire, gear, etc. No i also have a boat. Do you think without the AAL it will be able to support the weight. ATO also offers custom lengths for their shackles. How long are the XJ shackles?

Understand where you're coming from, been there done that and still ended up without the AAL.

Stock length shackles will limit the droop potential by 2-3".

Also did you have to modify the XJ shackles?

    Alrighty.... new suspension came in

    Front:
    Bilstein 5100
    OME 887
    All Pro UCA

    Rear:
    Bilstein 5100 Long Travel 16.34"-27.28" (BE5-B110-T5 X2)
    Dakar Leaf Pack with D29XL
    ATO shackle flip
    ATO stock length HD shackles
    Extended brake lines
    All Pro Ubolt flip

    Installed the rear today.....

    New rear shocks

    Old shocks

With the weight of the truck on the leafs i disconnected the bottom of the rear shocks to see how much room i had for droop....... not much. Also took a while for it to extend. They are pretty blown up.

    New vs old....

    Installed the new shocks...

I supported the truck from the frame to see how much droop i gained and also to check and make sure all of my lines were OK....

The parking brake line is pretty taught at full droop. The center of the axle to the fender measures at 31" and it measures at 26.5" with the weight of the truck on the suspension. I need to figure out how to ensure that i won't bottom out. I need to flex it and take some measurements. I will be installing the rest tomorrow. Over all i am happy with the swap. I didn't realize how blown my shocks were. It is kind of bazar that they were in that bad of shape with only 35-40k miles on them. Do you guys think i should contact them for potential warranty or would that be a waste of my time?

I wouldn't bother with 40K on them. I just installed nitro Chargers back in May, and from what I remember right out of the box they are quite slow to expand. Are the billsteins the same way if you grab them and compress them by hand they expand quickly?

yea they expand quickly and consistently. The OME are slow then expand a little quicker and then come to almost a complete stop as they finish their out stroke. Also when i tilt them from side to side i can hear fluid sloshing around in them.... not sure what that is

Finished up the front suspension tonight. Replaced the OME 886 with OME 887. Same length just softer. I replaced the stock control arms with the Allpro UCAs. Replaced the OME nitro shocks with the Bilstein 5100s. Even with the alignment all out of wack the truck rides amazing!!!!!! I took it around the block in my neighborhood to make sure everything was good to go and it drove better than it ever has! Finally getting my suspension dialed. Cant wait to get off road this weekend. Also just a side note... the passenger side sucks to get the UCA thru bolt out. Had to break out the grinder..... :sawzall::welder:

    New suspension

    Old set up

    New stuff installed

All of my original suspension...... Anyone want any of this stuff? Really just the OEM UCAs and the OME 886 springs are really the only components still in good shape. The front and rear shocks are pretty well blown out.

Alignment tomorrow.... ill post the results.

Got me jelly on the upgrades. Wish I would have done that the first time around. I'll be doing a very similar setup once I can justify it. Check back soon with travel pics!
