I love seeing Buff in a Jets uniform, but i expect he will be traded before the deadline. He is actually more valuable as a winger than a defenseman. It is no coincidence that he played up on the Hawks cup run. He is a defensive liability on too many nights. As game changing as he can be on occasion, he has too many lazy nights where he seems indifferent. Sure the Hawks would love to have kept him, so would the Jets like too. Unfortunately there are more consistent defenseman than him and only so much dough to go around

 

I would not want to be in the same city as that guy when he is running around with a drippy nose

 

I think the Canucks won the Kassian / Prust trade

 

No doubt. I don't like Prust but it's hard to compare someone who has some heart but over does it sometimes with someone who just plain over does it sometimes.

I would hope so.

So now we have a whole new way to circumvent the cap, right? Agree to a settlement after terminating the contract and then you carry a lower hit.

 

That's exactly why I think the NHL will rule they have to carry some cap hit , I mean lets be real here , LA only terminated this deal like this because they realized what a shitty deal they had signed up for , self inflicted

 

Agree there should be some cap hit but how much? That could take all season to sort out.

 

That's the kicker. By the time this is figured out how much cap hit will have burnt off? LA did this all to weasel out and it's been well played by them.

 

Is LA having to carry any residual cap from Voynov ?
