Awesome. Just to make sure. Its 32 1/2 In the cargo space from wheel well to wheel well.

:I'm looking to start a auto reconditioning business and need to know the measurements to mount a mobile auto wash unit.

My bed is 74" long and 15" deep.
Inside widths are: 40" between the wheel wells, 57" between the rails (inside top).
    Tail gate width is 53"

He said wheel wells, not bed. So that's what I measured, the inside of the wheel wells of the rear. Plastic to plastic, then the width.

He said "bed". I don't have a tape right now or I'd do it, but I took this to mean the width of the bed between the wheel wells. Like, where you wish you could slide in a piece of plywood, but can't because it's less than 48" wide.

Man, I got home from work and completely forgot.

I agree (mostly) with tan4x4. I get 40.5 between the wells, but it's all curvy, so it depends on your tolerances and what you're doing. I get 14 - 14.5 from front of the bed (behind the cab) to the front of the wheel wells - again, it depends on what you're doing and tolerances. I didn't measure the front-to-back length of the wheel wells, nor did I measure from the back of the wells to the back of the bed. I can if you need.

Not to worry. I do that all the time... more often recently...
