    A few weeks ago, I some a pic on Instagram about a new limited release Sweetwater Cork and Cage Series Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. It hit the shelves Monday and a liquor store down the road got it in yesterday afternoon, limited to one per customer.

    I got my gf to ride down with me and me each picked up one of the 750ml bottles and went home to crack one open...

    Honestly, I was pretty disappointed in the brew. I love bourbon, love stouts, and find Sweetwater brews pretty good for the most part. But I wasn't impressed with this $15 750mL bourbon stout. It had a lot of bourbon flavor to it but not much in the stout department.

    My gf likes stouts and porters, but she did not like this one at all. I will say that after two glasses of this 11.2% stout and a half glass of the Breckenridge Vanilla Porter she picked out (which was actually really good - just enough vanilla in the aftertaste but not too sweet), I was feeling pretty good haha!

    Think I will be sticking to the Founder's Breakfast Stouts from here on out!

    We also picked up a bottle of Terrapin's Walking Dead IPA for the season premier this weekend. It sounds kinda interesting... IPA brewed with blood oranges. And even if the beer sucks, the bottle looks pretty cool!

    Had Voodoo Brewings #BOC peanut butter milk stout, pretty decent. As far as peanut butter beers go Ive also had the Terrapin, Mother Earth Sintax, Horny Goat but by far the best is Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Milk Stout.
