Hell I'd take a manual adjusting seat. Just give me some more height.

You sir are lost. The complaint is the seat in the Tacoma belongs in an entry level S-10 in 1998 not a 2016 $40,000 Tacoma. Get it? I will not buy one because of that. I had my 09 for 4 years and could not find the sweet spot for me on seat position. Even my 98 POS Dakota had power seats. If I was spending 10 grand then no big deal but what they cost now it is BS. Call me a whiny bitch or whatever you want, that will not change anything except peoples perception of you.

I agree. Yesterday I test drove a 2016 taco and canyon. The canyon had a much nicer and more comfortable seating position. It wasn't the seat itself, it was just the lack of height/tilt adjustment on the bottom portion of the seat. There must be some after market solution to this! A seat from another comparable vehicle perhaps, or modification that can be made.

I appreciate what you are saying, but driving both of the twins made me feel like I was sitting on a rock...the seats are just too hard. The height adjustment potential was great, however. That being said, I test-drove a 2016 Tacoma the other day, and the height adjustment, thankfully, does not pose an issue for me.

The Tacoma is an awesome good looking truck! I am scratching my head on this. Seems ridiculous to have to look for an aftermarket solution to make a seat on a new truck comfortable.

Especially on the Limited. Every option and convenience under the sun (heated seats, homelink, navigation, parking sensors, entune, backup camera, leather, + many others) EXCEPT power seats or at least a manual height adjustment HUH??? Say what??!!. I am pissed because I was waiting for the 2016 Tacoma to come out so I can trade my runner before it needs tires. :). Maybe I will lease one instead of buy and cash out my equity. Maybe by the time lease runs out, Toyota will come out of its coma.

To be honest I was ready to buy this truck. Then I find out I can't get a TRD sport with a DCLB and manual trans. So I convinced my self I would be fine with a 5ft bed. Then I find out it has drum brakes, so I try to convince myself that drum brakes are not a big deal. Now to find out it doesnt have a power seat or height adjustment? The last car I had without height adjustment and atleast part of the seat being power was a 1986, next car after that was a 95 and ever since then I've always had it. Toyota really dropped the ball.

So, after a thorough search of this and other forums, I discovered numerous threads attempting to solve the seat height adjustment problem. Many suggest using spacers or washers under the front or back seat mounts, but this may compromise safety. There's even a spacer kit available, some users say this really helped. Others suggest having an upholsterer change the seat cushion bottom, which would alter the fit of the existing fabric. Some have gone as far as using a shop that specializes in handicap vehicle modification to adjust the seats. This is obviously is a big issue for plenty of people. Even the recent car and driver article slams the seating comfort/adjustability.

Only solution is to stop buying tacomas until toyota equips them properly.

Wow. Some of these threads are downright laughable. Bottomline, members: Unfortunately for those who share a distaste for Toyota's lack of power seats, Toyota is still going to sell plenty-here in America and abroad. You're the minority in this, and they will get along just fine without your purchase. There was plenty disdain for the 2nd gen when it came out, and Toyota did just fine.

So, if you don't like it, don't buy it.

Right thats the plan. I dont like down grading my current vehicle for a brand new vehicle. I have no distaste for Toyota and I really want a Tacoma, its perfect for what I need in a truck and is available in stick but until its equipped like a truck should be in 2016 (ie. Power seat, 4 wheel disc brakes) I wont be a customer. Im in no rush and its only a matter of time until the tacoma comes up to par with amenities and options with basically every other truck on the market.
