It's coming out yes, but we have no idea exactly how it will look. Jeep has made tons of Jeep pickup concepts over the years. Just do a Google Image search to see. Like every other automaker, they keep their styling top secret until the right time. Now that being said, it will still probably look very similar to this lol. Jeep tries to keep their styling consistent. I hope it is a great truck with lots of options to steal away Tacoma buyers. Maybe Toyota will will do more in the future.

Will it also drive like a Jeep Wrangler on the highway? Sorry to say but I plan to use my truck as a daily driver, so no thanks! Jeep Wranglers may be great off road, but they are worse on road than my dad's Prius. Slow, terrible around bends, feels like it will tip over, noisy, and awful MPGs. And if I'm lucky enough to be parking on a windy day, maybe the door will fly open in the parking lot and bash into the car next to me as all that is there to hold it on is a vinyl strap. No thanks!

The Tacoma is an on road truck that is very capable off road. The Wrangler is an off road vehicle that is just barely capable of driving on road.

Yes they are. They make great white flags to wave and surrender. Great "escargot scoops" to eat their favorite delicacy. My dad gave me a "French army knife" years ago. Has a snail scoop, a nose picker, and most importantly a tiny white flag for all those occasions where they need 'em. :)

The 3.8s were slow. The newer 3.6 is a different story, more HP and more torque than a 3rd gen.
Solid front axle (vs Tacomas weak IFS) may not ride as well up front, but the coil rear suspension rides much better than the Tacoma rear leafs. IMO the 2015 stock Rubicon unlimited drove better than the stock TRD OR DC.
MPGs are better than the 2nd gen, with more power.
The straps are so the doors can be removed, as well as the roof.

The wrangler excels above the Tacoma in every off-road category. Approach angle, break over angle, departure angle, ground clearance, water fording ability, turning radius, HP, torque, 4:1 Tcase, 4:10 gears, front and rear selectable lockers, stock BFG MT tires, push button swaybar disconnect...

But the Tacoma is quieter (not brick shaped) and has smoother car-like IFS.

Hopefully Jeep will bring the off road market pressure that GM failed to do. Some competition would do the segment good.

What do you mean really is coming out? You can buy one of these today for a cool $80,000.

Maybe I missed the joke and y'all already know about the brute... I hope so.

There is rumors the new JL will offer a pickup but I call bull shit.

It's a tough choice between the Taco and JK even as it stands right now. Stock v stock I'd drive the Tacoma but after $5-$10k in aftermarket goodies.. its no longer a fair comparison..

It was announced last month the Ohio Jeep Wrangler plant would retool to build a next gen wrangler based pickup. Google it.

Yes, the one pictured there is the AEV, not the official Jeep model.

I wonder if you'll be able to remove the top like the wranglers.

Unfortunately as a 2017-2018 model, we probably have at least another year or more before the official reveal.

I would hope so. Although there is talk about whether or not they will be able to maintain the fold down windshield with ever so increasing crash test requirements.

Yeah I had read about the delays. I might be in a 3rd gen taco before the reveal but we'll see. Guess if the JL pickup is epic enough I can use that renowned Toyota resale value I hear about so much.
