Yeah, I often tell the Colorado peeps that I'm closer to Wyoming/Nebraska than I am to them

 

Loving the scenery. Love the mountain views. Southwestern BC I'm guessing.

 

That would be an awesome job. You would enjoy Sheridan too...lots of people tinker with cars out there

It's tempting. But it isn't what I want to do. Theater isn't my thing. I'm sure I could get it. Location would be awesome for sure. Not as ideal as powell in my mind or lander but still. Big horns are right there. Pay isn't bad either and benefits.

But. Not what I want. Least not yet.

I think if I was put in a similar situation I would prefer a crappy job with a better location rather than an awesome job and a crappy location. Well, as long as the crappy job was tolerable.

 

Idk you spend so much time working that not doing what you want for work can really suck. You can always travel for time off to be where you want until you can have both.

 

True, I guess it's subjective. I never "hated" any of my jobs but I have hated the places I lived. I know when it comes time for me to find a job I will take a job in a crappy place only if its temporary and is necessary to move up to a better position in a better place. I don't think I am going to have a lot of trouble finding a job in a place I love though.

 

Yea I know what you and gage are saying.

But. I have goals and standards. Big aspirations in my field. Theater design at a community college isn't one. That would be more like a semi retirement gig for me.

No, no updates. It's driving fine currently since the oil is topped off. Someone mentioned the sound it makes sounds like a "knocking" and not a shuttering/tapping like I thought so I am thinking it's pretty bad.

Last I was told was to touch nothing. They filled the oil and tightened everything to specs. After I drive 100 miles they want to drain the oil to see how much was lost and go from there. Lizzy needs a new backpack for an upcoming backpacking trip so I might buzz to FoCo with her on Saturday to knock the miles out and get the truck in on Tuesday. Basically they told me that right now all they are doing is creating a paper trail to make sure it gets covered under warranty.

 

Both of these views are valid. But keep in mind that what is important to you ATM will evolve and change as you get older. This is just the way things go.

For me, the most important thing is to not have regrets later about the choices I make today.

Mine are one and the same. Id rather be apart of one of the most iconic movies or recording of our time than be a small theater guy in Wyoming. Id always regret not going for something bigger.

 

My point of view is slightly skewed since I love where i live and my job makes me happy. It's not the end game job for me but it's great for now. Like you said Gage it's subjective and Mike has a good point on making decisions for no regrets down the road.

Speaking of car parts does anyone want the SSR type F wheels that were on my dad's evo? Josh already had first dibs but bolt pattern won't work. Theyre 17x9 I believe 22mm offset and 5x114 bolt pattern matte black. Theyre bitchn in person. They can come with the Hoosier slicks still on them which have about 7 heat cycles left in them. He's got 6 wheels...

 

Its not Fame. It's being proud about my work. Being able to say, "yea, i did that". Like getting to be the guy that mixes the next great album or something. I'll never be famous because of that. Tell me, how many audio engineer do you know by name? Probably none id bet.

Haha i'll never get that kind of famous. I'd just want to be successful.
