Can you upload a picture of the center console so we can see the M/T stick? I've got one on order and I'm curious to know the difference in cockpit layout between the A/Ts I've seen. Thanks!

Congrats on the truck LOTS of MGMs are being sold!!

OH BTW if you paid cash and want a new car loan PenFed is offering 1.5% That's what I was going to do but they sent me the check before the truck came in, so I will use it when it gets here. All the Flooding may make it late,,,,I am financing $28K for three years with aprox $5500 down (depending on what dealer add ons I want)

Picked up the identical truck last night - only difference is A/T. Going from a 2006 2nd Gen double cab with 225K miles to this truck is simply amazing. Only non wear and tear repair in 8 years on the 2nd Gen was the steering rack at 70K which leaked from day one but I never brought it in for routine checks (lesson learned). Oh yea and I cursed the "lifetime transmission fluid" and was scared of something major right up until I traded it in.

You won't be sorry. My truck had 200 miles on it as they had to get from another dealer. On mostly highway commute today with reserved speed I got 23 MPG. Will see what happens over more driving.

I just saw this exact truck on my dealers lot. I have been favoring buying a 4R, but today after seeing this....well, it just seemed new and exciting...and afterall, it's a Taco! I'm feeling a lot like you....Runners and Xterras are seeming pretty boring next to this new beast! Good luck with it.

Today we went off road with the wife and the dog. Everyone LOVED the ride. Much stiffer off road with 4L going. Just start out in 2nd gear and spin the tires!! Very nice I'm impressed all over again. Man this truck is fun to drive. My dog was drooling so consider the interior broken in now. On the way home he was comfortably laying down in the back seat. I put a towel down, Friday we are heading to Ikea and picking up some of those floor mats that dont slip and fold the seat down put the non-slip mats on the back of the seat and see how that works out for my buddy.

Getting used to the 4WD, in low looks like I need to be stopped and to engage and/or maybe lock the hubs I need to put the truck in reverse?? Toyota thing maybe, I'm a noob to Toyota so bear with me, I'm sure its in the manual but I started thumbing thro and well I'd rather be driving TBH. I little hill in the woods near where we are - about a 300ft elevation change in less that a 1/4 mile. A little steep with ruts and small rocks nothing serious but wanted to try it out. Now thinking we need some "winter" tires and of course new winter rims for said tires... yup thats going to be in my future. Just trying to find the right wheels. Was thinking TRD Taco OR wheels in flat black or maybe flat grey.... gotta wait and keep out of the dog house tho.

Right on. aint she brutefully pretty? With M/T getting 16 MPG but I'm not really taking it easy much. The only reason I got UP to 16 was due to a small bit of highway driving I did yesterday on the way home from the gym - went 90mph to see how she handles at speed around corners. Ain't no Porsche but hey we will see how it goes in 20"+ of snow.

Congrats on your new ride and good luck with it. I'm going back to the dealer and getting the 125K waranty for $800 deal they offered me.

My wife is one of those minimalist tree hugging organic types (me too) and she said to me how about a car without all the fancy smancy stuff my first car had roll up windows.. blah blah... whatever!

I told her with the M/T this IS the stripped down version! hahaha

A little of this and a little of that.
Congrats on the new truck! I'm also a manual transmission junky. Really glad that Toyota still offers the three pedal option.

A little update for anyone that cares. Tonight my wife and I installed nerf bars so she can step up (once I get a lift kit she doesn't know about yet).

Anywho not quite 1K miles on her so far and yeah really really loving this truck. I should have bought a Taco YEARS ago. What was I thinking? Sheesh been driving an SUV for 13 years until this and wow, I drove the CR-V the other day and it was like driving a go cart or a toy truck... not even close.

I took some pics of the nerf bars and a few under skirt shots of the important stuff under the truck.

    Here's some pics:

    some under skirt shots

Looking towards the rear - I see blue shocks, I thought the Bilstein shocks and struts were BLUE and the other ones were yellow?? This is a TRD Sport
