Exactly, I mean I like power but Ive also had a vehicle that had that pump handle for height adjustment and that was fine but with power you get a lot more positions you can stop at. I personally enjoy lumbar support, manual lumbar support usually has either on or off, power has many spots in between. Just the fact that height adjustment and power isnt even on premium models, I could understand base models but not TRD and limited.

I'm just waiting for this to bust out into a "fuck Toyota, no *insert here all your gripes about a vehicle you want to love but have butthurt over the options* is making me buy a Chevrolet Orlando".

I wouldn't say im butt hurt, more just disappointed because I really wanted to buy a truck this year and my options are very limited because I only drive stick. So its either, frontier, tacoma or dodge 2500. The frontier is eh. The dodge is more truck than I need and stick is only available with diesel which I love but the epa has ruined diesel engines and it adds way too much cost to the truck. Im not going to go buy something else I'm just going to wait until Toyota comes into the 21st century and then ill buy one. I believe the tacoma is a well built truck and its the truck I want, I just want to have the options that im looking for. If I could buy a black trd sport with a DCLB with a manual trans, 4 wheel disc brakes, a power drivers seats, and maybe leather I would go out and pick one up today.

Yeah, enjoy the 15 mpg out of the cummins. They don't get the mileage people on here will talk about. Trust me, you don't want a 2500. I'm in one right now doing field work. It has a new front differential, electrical gremlins, and a new battery all within the first 2 years of it's life. I feel like I'm always chasing an issue with this truck. Rides like shit too, but that's pretty much normal for anything 3/4 ton rated or heavier.

As for the other options I think you need to ask yourself do you need them or are they things you want. Would you be able to tell on a skid pad between the 2016 Tacoma and 2016 Colorado braking if you weren't aware of the brand? Do you fit in the current seating configuration? Is a manual transmission, which btw is not from the 21st century considering every other truck is dumping the manual, a critical thing? Hop in a 2016 Tacoma and a few other trucks. Judge them on that. Not your specification sheet in your head. Just my advice.

Then you wouldn't be buying a Tacoma.

I study repository diseases, no offense but the EPA didn't ruin diesel engines by requiring lower particulate coming from the exhaust.

I'd rather have a crappier power output on a diesel engine than suffer through lung cancer.

Who gets lung cancer from driving a diesel?

    Well said.

BTW the European press is talking about new emissions standards coming as an aside to the VW debacle. It sounds like they may end up having to lower NOx emissions just like North America...

Higher levels of NOx and particulate matter are not good for your health and increase the risk of lung cancer. That's what he meant.

Yes unfortunately I hate auto transmissions. Takes the fun out of driving for me, plus I enjoy down shifting coasting, and the ability to pop the clutch if needed.

    Right. Not this year anyway.

This is ludicrous, you're not going to get lung cancer unless you're sucking on the tail pipe or running it inside of a garage. I believe making the sulfer requirement to be 15ppm in ulsd is plenty enough. Putting silly fiters and dumbing down engines to create less pollution at the expense of actually lowering milage so you're actually burning more fuel to go the same distance so you are using more resources, spending more on fuel. I didn't realize TW was full of tree huggers lol, I guess im used to being on the TDI forums.

You believe? Do you know anything about toxicology? Sorry man but like I said I study and deal with respiratory diseases for a living. I don't deal with belief but with hard numbers, lots of data and facts..... you know science that clearly shows the connection between particulates and other emissions to negative effects (i.e. diseases) on respiratory and circulatory systems. The same science and scientific method that invented cell phones, airplanes, and the Toyota Tacoma. I'll leave belief for those who like to quote the bible.

    Yah, tree hugger.....
