I hated 'em back in the day, but convinced myself they were OK.

After doing a body lift to a JeepI once owned, I hated 'em even more.

I STILL despise the idea of doing a body lift. Trying to convince myself to get the ridiculous idea out of my head.

But....Anyone have a body lift on a 2nd generation Tacoma? What size? Show me pictures.

Kicking the idea around of 1" or 2".

ONLY reason to do a body lift is to get some extra tire clearance for bigger tires 35's+..... and even then no more than 1inch.... otherwise just start trimming.

    We have a BINGO!

I'm starting to make plans for 35"'s at some point. Just put new tires on less than 2 months ago, and will be a year to year and a half down the line before the 35's go on....But that WILL HAPPEN. Looking at 1" or 2" (MAX) and a LOT of trimming. I just want to see a body lifted Taco....Never liked the looks of a body lifted truck, and want to see how much it will hurt my eye.

1 inch is hardly noticeable on the 2nd gen. If you have the stock front bumper the plastic actually flexes enough that it covers the gap on the front. The rear gap is not very bad either. There are several members on here that have a 1 inch. I plan on installing one this winter and will post photos once done. (for all the haters). I've put at least a 1 inch on all my past vehicles and have never had any problems. 2 Yj's and 1 TJ. I would imagine that most of the anti-body lift members have never actually had any experience with them.

Count me in as one of those body lift haters.....I ruined a Jeep ('79 CJ7) back in the day when I went with a 2" body lift. Too much flex in the frame without any give to the body....Lots of ripped out metal.

Still....I'm considering it again. I realize that I'll need to get most of my clearance with suspension. But an extra 1" or 2" wouldn't be the worst thing. From what I've seen, 35"'s will require some butchering already, so why not just go the whole route.....?
