Why do people think these are new? Jeep must be doing some funky advertising. They've had Brute's out for years lol

    Here you go: http://www.rubitrux.com/aev-brute-double-cab.html

Not sure what's different about them coming out, I know the price dropped, but they've already been available for purchase for a while now. We had one down here at a dealership a few months ago.

Because Jeep has confirmed production for 2017-2018, but not released the design yet. Googling wrangler pickup you get the AEV brute or the concept Gladiator.

I had two Jeep Cherokee XJs, one a stock 1997 and the other a built 2000. I beat the hell out of the '97 daily, especially after I got the '00, and that thing was a beast...went through just about everything I threw at it and it was very reliable. The '00 was equally reliable and with a little more ground clearance than the first one (3" lift) it more than held it's own off-road, did everything my '14 Tacoma OR does now and probably even a little more. If Jeep still made the XJ Cherokee I'd buy another one in a heartbeat, great vehicles IMO.

I suspect being based on the wrangler unlimited frame, it will not be offered in a 4 door configuration. In the past Jeep engineers said they would not build a wrangler based pickup that failed to meet the same off road performance as their legendary wrangler. (Same reason Toyota doesn't offer a DCLB OR model). Unfortunately I require a 4 door.

Hm thats a good point. I require 4 doors too so 2 door JL pickup would be out of the question.

A 4 door wrangler pick up is coming, it will be pretty cool, and pretty expensive im sure. It is a smart move by Chrysler when you think about it, instead of building a new mid size truck from scratch to compete with the Colorado and Tacoma, take the popular jeep and make it into a truck. Now have somthing completely unique.

That is the Jeep JK Brute....starts around $70,000, that is what brought me to order a Tacoma. I wanted a brute but the price was too much for me and the tacoma is the closest thing to it.
now chrysler is saying they will bring a pickup from the factory but I am not holding my breath (they've said it before) and if they do it might just be a 2 door.

As mentioned before, production has been confirmed in Ohio. Not a rumor. I do expect it will be a 2 door extended cab, not a four door crew cab.

That is the Gladiator concept from several years ago. The new one will be based on the next gen wrangler, so no designs have been released yet.

The possibility of a next gen Wrangler (4 Door) pickup with a manual is the only thing stopping me from picking up a Gen 3 Tacoma in the next 3-4 years. I really hope the pick up is not just a two door option and FCA offers the pickup with a small diesel hooked up to a proper manual.

The next Gen Wrangler pickup is a done deal, it was part of the labor agreement that FCA signed with the Toledo Union workers. It's also the reason why FCA is moving production of the Jeep Cherokee out of Toledo.

Yeah, motor is one place this might beat the Tacoma. The 3.6 is a better motor than the 4.0 and based on everything I've read the 3.5 in the 3rd gen won't best it either.

The friggin' small/mid size pickup market is becoming trendy as shit! GM comes out with commercials about "how to get girls..." "be a cool guy with a beard...." buy a Colorado! Toyota's got the 25 yo muddy chick running around in a bikini.....it's not bad enough that a million of housewives have swarmed the 4 door wrangler...they gotta make a trendy pickup too!? lol In a few years the Taco will be by itself again...just like the Runner.
