Here's a weird one. So I've always wished they'd have put a light on the fog light switch. And the traction control switches. Thought it was kinda cheap that they skimped on those. Well, I unhooked my battery yesterday to reset the ECU. And I was driving around last night and noticed that the fog and traction control lights were lit! Seems odd that just those switches never lit up before. And now they do. Just thought I'd share.

Oh, and my 2014 is shifting much better now after the reset.

Next time just smack the dash, or get new bulbs......... Trans will relearn driving characteristics soon

I posted a similiar question a week ago. My traction control button does not light. All others next to it do.

I've posted about it in other threads (multiple probably). I get this high rpm revving when I slow down and then accelerate again. Example: I'll be driving 30mph, then slow down to ~10-15mph real quick for a yield sign or railroad tracks or bump in the road, and then real quick accelerate again... And the rpm's go way up like its in the wrong gear. I instinctively let up on the pedal. The only way to avoid it is to sort of coast for a moment and then accelerate slowly. It's weird. I've had three Tacomas- a 2010 and two 2014's. They all did it to a degree. But my current 14 does it the most. I've read others have the same issue. I just think it's the gearing maybe? Don't really know. But just decided to try the ECU reset to see if it changes anything. I think maybe it's running a little better.

Try the reset? Don't think there's any harm in it.

Also, after the reset the AC wouldn't blow cold air. Turned it off and on a dozen times during a two hour trip today. Nothing. And then all of the sudden it worked.

I've noticed it gets lazy sometimes.... A simple reset and it shifts firmer

the only time ive experienced this is when i do the same thing you do with the slowing down, then hitting the gas, but when i turn down this one street where your immediately going downhill after the turn. Only this one situation causes it.

I been getting it a lot. Hoping this reset holds. I'm trying to give er a little more punch while it relearns.
