I think the third will be the charm.

There used to be one on relayrides and I wanted to rent it for a day or two, but its gone. Theres an FRS on there now that I want to rent for a day just because I've always wanted to drive one.

The N-Fab Rock Rails are trash, right? From what I've seen they don't attach to the frame and are made of pretty thin material so would probably not do so well if used for purposes intended, right? I like the idea of detachable step points and the price point is alright. My guess is they'll probably get crossed off of the list though unless someone here has something positive to add about them.

    What haven’t I changed?
They are installed using the factory running board mounts which means they attach to the body and not the frame, and yes they are made of thinner material than most sliders.

Buddy of mine has a set, I can see if he wants to sell them. I took them off so I know they were complete and dent free, might need some paint.
I'm sure they would be fine for wheeling around Horsetooth.

That's not really the intention. If I'm going to go sliders I want something that's functionally reliable.

This is the way I was already leaning before I even posted but posted because I could get a much better price on a used set versus full blown sliders. That's why I said to convince me they're awesome and not to talk me out of them because the (limited) research I had done suggested they weren't going to be what I wanted. I figured maybe someone here had used the shit out of them and could say that while not as robust as full blown sliders they were more than adequate for basic use.

    :frusty:

If those are the same ones I looked at a couple of years or so ago they're badass but a little bit cost prohibitive. If you're buying I'm all in!

Oh snap! Calling photoshop on a photo of someone's kid/baby announcement photos.

I think Jim from TCT mag had N-Fab step bars on his old tacoma and he used them as rocks sliders once before they bent and pushed up into the rocker panel. They can be used just not abused, if i could get a set for my wives 4R very cheap i probably would.

I don't think anyone was offended. I was just playing.

Well, define abused. I mean, with something like a slider pretty much using them is abusing them, right?

you will use them more as a step than sliders anyways. :D

If you plan on wheeling and could come in contact with rocks near the rocker panel: don't get N-Fab
If you plan on using them mostly for a step: Get N-Fab

    its a simple decision really

Well, even if I have sliders and go wheeling my plan isn't going to be using them as much as possible so much as a last line of defense.

Lol, it is. Son messed it up during the photo shoot almost to the point of unreadable. Wife liked the progression from in front of face to down so she photo shopped to make it look readable.
