I put on 265/70/17's (approx 32" tire) - top of the line Michelin's & ran em for 3 weeks. Today I switched back to stock size for a few reasons. In hind sight I should have found if the issues coulda been fixed???
    1. My average mileage at the time dropped 2 to 3 mpg (Yes I did the math to correct the odometer differences)
    2. Performance was worse as immediately I noticed it took more gas pedal to get up to speed. Handling was poor as coming off a highway off ramp, felt unsafe at 45mph where I used to take it everyday @ 50-55.
    3. In fast stops, the ABS brakes kicked in even on dry pavement
Today I tried the stock 265/65’s (same Michelin tire) & I was able to take the ramp @ 55 no problem and noticed immediate power increase, as well as the ABS returned to normal.

My question? Is it possible to re program the on board senors / controls (whatever our tacos have) to correct all these issues
I know 32” tires are not huge and I have up sized previous trucks to the same, but never had issues mentioned above?
    Any thoughts?

On the plus side of the 32”s…. it corrected our faulty speedometers to read right on target. & it made the truck look more like a truck

No...You aren't going to be able to adjust ONLY the ECU to make up for the difference.
Regearing is going to help with some of that.

But it's a trade off- There are always trade offs.

On a side note- I'm surprised that just that little bit of size change created that much difference.

The highway off ramp is posted 25 mph. I've about pushed wusses in thier corvettes outta the way as it is tight & most do no more than 35 tops. I like 50... kinda like a free carnival ride;)

You added a bit of sidewall- so there is alot of compliance (give in the sidewall) and the larger the side wall gets- The more it'll give.

And with the extra 1/2" of tire height- I'm sure you get a different feel from the ride.

The power problem can be corrected by using more gear, maybe 4:10 from 3:73.

ABS kicked in on dry pavement? wth... I think you have something else wrong. My ABS rarely, if ever kicks in and I'm running 285/70's

RIP to my 08 Prerunner DC
I think the problem here is your driving style not your tires. Plenty of folks have done just fine with your set-up, but they understand that they have a truck and can't whip it around.

Maybe my ABS is screwed up?? It would happen doing 30mph and our lovely Chicago stop lights can go from green to yellow to red as little as 5 seconds. Since they started photo ticketing, ya gotta stop or it's a $100.00 bucks a pop...got 2 already this year.
All I know is today with the new (stock size) tires and 36K on the original stock tires, my ABS never kicked in unless snow/ Ice, or if you hit a bump or pot hole while braking. With the 32's... it happened often

same here I switched out to the BFG 265/70/70 on my sport and have none of the problems you mention, I was doing some suspension tuning the other night and was locking up the brakes on dry pavement and the ABS did not come on...

Maybe a shot in the dark, but would VSC play any part in this?

What burbs you in? I am in McHenry county
