Hello all, just wanted to share something totally awesome with you all and get what help I can. I've been providing a good friend some advice and advertising help for a project he started in 2005. Basically, he wrote a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie for adults. Imagine the show many of us grew up with but made into a live action movie with some serious fighting and a great story on how they came to be. I can't give out many details, that's not my job, but if this sounds interesting, then please visit the site and show some support. The hope is to get Paramount (the company with the legal rights to make it happen) to recognize us and bring it to life. Enjoy!

UPDATE 1: The creators of this proposed movie, Luke and Steve, just released an interview of them explaining their vision and ideas for the movie. Check it out! http://www.turtlesthemovie.com/article.php?news_id=13

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
Yes, I could see a "grown up" version of TMNT being a success much like Transformers was. I think with the Turtles though its a delicate thing since they have always been cast as lovable, goofy, capable, and fun characters. The paining makes them look really violent, which in my opinion could corrupt their character. There needs to be a balance where you don't make things so gruesome and graphic. Sure- they can me more violent. Not 300 violent, but more along the lines of Transformers or Batman where there is some adult content, but its adult because it focusses on content and story.

I think that painting would depict the evil turtles from like dimension X.
I think the live action movies 1-2-3 got it pretty much right. Add a bit more adult content and perfect. It is really hard to take the Turtles and turn them into 300. Either way, I will watch it. But not sure about others.

Awesome. The original miniseries was on the serious side. I hate what the franchise has become.

+1 if Scarlet Johansen plays April.

I think it would be cool as long as you don't corrupt the character of the turtles. I thought all the Batman movies were laughable until Batman Begins came out. If you use BB as a template I say it would be a winner.

Thanks for compliments, I'll be passing this thread along to the creator, I know he likes seeing more support. The original comics were darker than the stuff we all remember. This movie isn't intended for children, however it won't be a gore fest, story and character development were the top priorities, killing and smashing came after that. That painting is of one of the really violent scenes however the Turtles aren't gonna just go around slicing heads off. They will however use their weapons as actual weapons and there are some scenes where violence is a must. The website is growing still, I've asked Luke to add some information about some of the enemies to give you an idea of what sort of villains to expect. Read some of the information on the site about the weapons, the painting, and the transformation scene. It should give you a good idea of the level this movie is aimed for.

Forgot to mention, spread the word! If enough people show support the studio would be foolish to ignore it.

Well thanks to the added traffic I've been able to generate for his site he decided to put some new information up about the enemies. His first update for it is titled 'Enemies Part I: The Shredder' which is a pretty good bit of background on the main enemy.

It's been a while and a month-long vacation kept me from posting an update. Since I last posted a lot of new material has gone up and a Graphic Novel has been started with some sketches posted to the site. So while there is no word yet on a movie, something tangible is on the way. Here are a couple sketches:
