    Polish is for the actual "shine" of the paint. Wax is for paint protection (applied after paint has been polished)

    Since my 2016 is black I am doing my best to avoid swirl marks. I use the 2 bucket system with grit guards,
    $18 Duragloss 901 Red Car Wash Concentrate - 16 oz.
    Duragloss 901 soap, pressure washer, chemical guys microfiber towels or Meguairs waffle microfiber towel for drying (be sure to use some type of lubricant on microfiber towel if you can not blot dry). Wax with Meguiars wax. I did order a cannon foam gun from Amazon last week. Looking forward to giving it a try tomorrow morning as a pre wash.

    Are you considering the clear coat as paint? Because your polish and wax isn't doing anything to the paint.

    So seriously, in fact, that 3rd gens need to be washed differently than 1st and 2nd gens, and need their own special thread.

    I think the same is true of the ultra-elite Baja edition.

    Just washed ours after a day at the ranch yesterday. I am new to all the fancy stuff used for car washing (still learning) but I figured I would post some of the stuff I use...hopefully it helps newbies like myself who are use to simply washing your vehicle with soap, bucket and sponge... The best part of washing our Taco today was the time spent with my daughter who helped me wash, dry, and wax. She is trying to learn since it's going to be hers when she leaves to college.

    Chemical Guys Microfiber Towels to remove wax and to apply Meguiars Ultimate Detailer (after wax). I read in another threat here on TW about the Meguiars Mirror Glaze so I purchased some today (havent tried it yet)

    It's not really needed for the most part, but sometimes there is some residue on the paint from the plastic they wrap them in when they ship. I will clay my truck with a light or mild clay when I take delivery

    His products are extremely good. That guy is a nut. He actually made the products himself, with a little help from some chemists. I personally won't pay that much for products to detail a truck that is going to get beat on anyway. From what everyone says his products are some of the best

    Lucas spray shine stuff. It's awesome. Wash it with a good car soap blow it off with a leaf blower and spray away.

    Bingo, best stuff ever. I've been using ONR (Optimum NoRinse) to wash all my cars, trucks, motorcycles for years. I haven't used a hose to wash in like 10 years now. I also use the same company's sealant, not wax. I use Opti-seal for sealant. Shines like wax, but last longer. Plus, you wipe it on and walk away. No buffing it off. I can seal the whole truck in less than 10 minutes.

    Looks great inthe pic but wait until dark, put a good flashlight on a section and see if you have swirls or scratches.

    You should try Chadwicks. See how you like it.

    The first time I washed this truck which was about 3 weeks ago I was clueless as to washing a car the proper way. I used 1 bucket and an old sponge I've been using for about a year on my old 2002 F150. Needless to say that is when I discovered what the hell "swirls" were. To say I was upset with myself for screwing up the clear coat was an understatement. Thankfully we have the internet and lots of knowledgeable YouTube videos and recommendations. I bought some Meguairs Swirl X remover and got most of the swirls out. I plan to buy some Ultimate Compound and buy the Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher next paycheck so I can remove what has not been removed by hand.

    I will check out Chadwicks. Thank you!
