    So the temp inside my wife's tacoma exceeded 140 degrees and destroyed the thermometer I was using. I will have to go buy another now and restart the test. I can say this though, in all honesty, since having installed this insulation, the interior of my truck didn't feel as hot as it has in the past. It sat in the sun for 3 hours today collecting the heat from 11-2. In my opinion, this stuff works as well as it can in 102 temps. I don't feel like this type of insulation or any other insulation will do much when the temps get this high. Anyhow, I feel that results from these types of experiments are individualized, as each person regulates hot and cold differently. I will be testing this stuff probably next weekend: I will also have to get a new thermometer and start fresh.

    I use reflectix insulation in my truck shell. Works pretty good, IMO.

    I still think sunroof is the best at letting heat out. I cut a hole and installed a vent in my shell and it reduced heat by some 40 degrees at the roofline.

    Thanks for posting Jon. I actually spent the day installing my bedlights so I didn't have a chance to do the insulation. I'll get on it soon though. Curios for the thermo results once you get a new one. If you can, try the oven thermometer too and just leave it somewhere in the cab to get an ambient reading inside... I realize it's going to be different to everyone, but just like the "butt dyno", if I feel it makes a difference, then the work was worth it.

    I have aa 2015 black dclb. I use vent shades and crack my windows. It seems to help, but I'm thinking about tinting the windows.

    ^^I was gonna re attempt that this weekend plus a new material. However, my wife and I found out that gramps' kidneys have failed due to prolonged Lasix treatment for his CHF and he is under pain mgmt and hospice now. Probably just a few months, soo with that being said, we may be headed to Vegas this weekend or next to see him one more time. Not sure, but I am still going to the headliner project again. Just may be delayed.
