OK guys, a buddy who has a friend that owns a mechanic shop offered to help me install my 5100s all the way around and the aals, so i took up the offer, we completed the job today. In my haste I didn't take pre-install pictures, sorry. I can tell you it was not a slam bam easy job, it took some effort. I set my frint billy's to 2", and I re-used my oem coils, it definitely sits higher, not sure how much higher since i didnt take measurements, but i can tell you that it sits around 1/2 inch lower on the driver side, sucks! 17" wheels with the BFG AT KO2 265/70 are supposed to go on this monday, might raise the front to the 2.5" setting and add a 1/2 soacer on druver side, i'll post up a better pic soon

can anyone with these set to 2.5" tell me how they ride? i'm thinking i should have set them to 2.5" so i can have a more level look, as it sits now i am noticably higher in the rear, thanks

I'm sure someone that has them set that way will chime in, but from everything I've read with the stock Offroad coils set to 2.5", they will ride pretty rough. I have mine set to 1.75", and they are much firmer than stock. You will also be looking at having to replace the upper control arms at that height.

i went with the pro comp 1.5" aal, they were a bear to get in between the overload and the first leaf, i had to remove the entire pack and put them in using the new bolt, then getting the bolt holes realigned again was the toughest part of the whole job

if setting these to 2.5 on stock coils is not a good idea then what about setting them to 2.5 with eibach coils? any suggestions? i'm looking fir at least 2.5", if i go forward with the eibachs and the 2.5" setting i'll order some new ucas as well, thanks

The Eibach coils are longer than the stock coils, so many have the 5100's set to "0" to get 1.6" of lift. It looks like the .85" setting with Eibachs will get you ~2.5".

    This thread should help:

heres some better pictures, like i said before both sides on the front are equal height now, but notice how it is higher on the rear compared to the front, i will likely leave it this way for while i recoup some more $$$, then i'll go either with the eibachs or some one 885s, any ideas/suggestions? thanks

Often single add-a-leafs will sag a little over time. You can speed it up if you put a few hundred pounds in the bed and drive around for a few weeks. That will greatly improve the ride too. As for preloading the springs more why not just buy the proper set of coils? I have mine set at .85 and I think it's significantly firmer than stock. I can't imagine them at 2.5. I think 884's and a 3 leaf AAL are in my future...

That last pic looks like some serious rake. Are you sure you got a 1.5" AAL?

I have a 2" AAL, and mine doesn't look even close to that.

Take measurements front, and back from the center of the hub to the wheel well. Standard non lifted rear usually measures ~ 22".

Also, did you go with .85", or 1.75" setting on the fronts? It looks like .85".

Dadgum that back end is high! FWIW, here's mine with 2" Deaver AAL with 5100s at .85 with OME 884. Stock 265/65r17s:

It looks nose high but it's the angle I took the pic.
