im wanting to make my ride a hit smoother and when I go over bumps to where the car doesn't for up over instead just absorb the bumps and rocks. What is a good shock absorver to buy that is around 50$ each?

I upgraded my shocks and struts and dumped a pile of money into them (Bilstein 4600's), and they did not help with bumpy roads at all.

For 50 bucks, I'd say something cheap like Ranchos. But honestly, you're not going to ride like a Cadillac for 50 bucks a shock.

    J35yota,
Your Tacoma is not a 'CAR' as you stated in your initial post, its a TRUCK, which by definition is going to ride rougher than what you are used to. That being said, my Tacoma 4x4 rides pretty nice. Have you ridden in a similar TRUCK that rides smoother than yours?

You haven't mentioned whether your truck is a 4x4, 2wd prerunner, or 2wd 5-lugger. You haven't described the current suspension setup. The previous owner may have done something really stupid. The more information you can provide helps to formulate much better possible solutions than the ones that have been posted so far.

If you know nothing about suspensions, then posting photos of your front and rear spring/shock setups would help those of use who know what to look for.
