Same same. Either way. Don't make work truck into a race truck.

What's up everyone! I hoped back on TW to scope out the new 2016s, so I thought I'd drop in here and say hi as well.

Hey Adam, you know the rumors are still strong of a 2016 diesel Tundra. All of life's Chrysler worries would be solved, and you get to keep the Cummins.

Yeah I didn't think about that... That would be a requirement for you. I cringed when I saw you bought a Dodge. After one left me with $50 to my name on a Christmas eve, I swore I'd never own another Chrysler product. Then I went bought a jeep. I'm now ready to correct my wrong haha

My mom bought a 2013 jeep grand Cherokee after I convinced her into it. Less than a year later she is ready to get rid of it.

Honestly though I should have expected to do all this maintained after I bought a truck with 185k miles on it.

I could get on a whole Chrysler rant, but I'll really try to avoid it. Summed up simply, Chrysler uses really cheap low grade materials all the way around. The engineering can be a bit questionable too. As one small example, the coolant overflow tank on my 2013 Rubicon is held down with wire tie. No jokes. It looks like someone forgot to design a way to hold the tank, so they just zip tied the thing down to the closest thing they could find. The low quality shows everywhere though. I've discovered a whole list of WTFs on this jeep.
That said, I know a handful of people who swear by dodge, and every single one of them has been left sitting on the side of the road (even in brand new 2500s). I for life of me can't understand why they keep going back to dodge.

    damn... but so true.

I will let people play the Dodge vs Ford vs Chevy/GMC game all day. I'll keep driving Toyotas. I'm on my second Toyota (well, 3rd if you count my '87 4Runner I abused off road) and have no reason to change. The cost per mile is one of the best in the industry and they hold a great resale value.

Haha, trust me that wasn't the rant.

What hadn't been mentioned is the dd is still a Toyota product. The Jeep is more of a toy, and a very fun one at that! But it is about time to bail before the warranty runs out.

What I would give though for Ford to buy back the rights to jeep. Or hell, even Toyota, but something would feel a bit, un-American about that....

Anyhow, anytime I can do my part to set someone's expectations straight when buying a Chrysler product, I will.

I would never own a Chrysler product with a gas engine. But I would definitely buy another Cummins. Although my first choice would be a new Powerstroke.

The joke with a friend has always been to combine the Cummins engine with an Allison transmission on a Ford chassis and you'd have a bulletproof truck.

I couldn't believe it when I read about the Tundra. I'll be keeping my eye on that for a long while...

On that note, I have seriously contemplated putting a taco drivetrain in the Jeep.
