LED Tacoma Tail Lights

do all new Tacoma tail lights have the LED? I ordered, what was advertised as, a '14 Tacoma tail light from a salvage yard. The one they sent uses the bulb instead of the LED.

 

IIRC Toyota went to LED taillights in 2009. Anything before that will have the bulb as you described. You got a older style instead of the one that came with your truck.

 

i swear ive seen newer 2012-2015 running around with the bulb style lights.

 

Lower trim levels still use bulb style tail lights

 

This is what I was afraid of. I would have preferred to call them back and tell them they sent the wrong part; hopefully they'll let me send this one back without hassle. (They didn't even bother to send an invoice or receipt in the box with it.)

 

Did not know that. I've seen newer fleet trucks running around with LED taillights. I just assumed the older models had the bulbs.

Yup they came stock with both (at least up to 2014). Not sure which models have which lights, but my SR5 has LED.

My 2014 Sport came with LED on only on the brake. Bulbs for the third high brake, backup and turn.

 

Mine are full LED but I modified them slightly

 

I have a 2013 base that came with rear bulbs. Purchased Anso led rears on Amazon.

The right tail light is what came with the truck, the left is the Anso
Led replacement.

 

I love these tail lights man!!! Could you please guide me on where to figure out how to do it??

 

My 14 base model had the standard bulb tail lights.

First thing I did on my 15 was trade out the stock LED chrome fast and furious tails out for the base type.FYI they are all interchangeable throughout second gens
