Seriously I would get that checked out.... I don't read where anyone else is running interstates at or near redline. Something is seriously wrong.

You sure you're not accidentally shifting it into manual mode and leaving it in a low gear? kidding

OP, out of curiosity have you tried running with the ECT button pressed to see if that changes your highway downshifts?

Sounds like a personal problem. I get 20-21 just around town in stop and go traffic.

edit: just noticed you put on mudders and are complaining about the mileage. lol...

Interesting. I am running a 3 inch lift with 285/70's and running 75 mph I am comfortably just below 2k rpm's and averaging about 18mpg. Doing my frist actual road trip with the truck towards the end of the week so we'll see how it does under those conditions. But, I will say that after running a few tanks of fuel through it, I am getting about 110 miles more per tank than I was in my 2012

Are you planning on putting on mudders that also happen to be taller than the factory tire spec the truck is designed for? lol

Not for anything Scooter but I sense a good bit of exaggeration in his post. Who runs at redline on the highway unless it's on purpose?

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
I kept saying this since Day 1 when info was released.
People apparently don't understand that Car engine and transmission does not belong in the truck.
You will have to rev the F out of them to get anything done, and that will immediately eat you MPG's because the gearing Toyota put.
This is becoming more and more comical by the day..
So are we ready to kick seatbelt bracket Mike and demand V8 option or at least go back to dual VVTi 1GR ?

I hear you but for me Full size truck is little bit too big so went with the Taco.
Also the fact the my dealership not so helpful when i was jnquiring on orderinf 2016 F150 and i just got tired of waiting for them to send me quotes.

While driving to work this morning, sa the 2015 F150 SuperCrew or on F150 aka SCREW.
Wow looked beautiful but again just a little bit too big for my style but i would def have gone that route had the dealership been helpful with pricing inquiry.

If Toyota is having troubles with the Transmissions not shifting properly then they may bring them in to have the Transmission reflashed. It has happened with other vehicles.
