As I build my truck, I've been tracking the weight I've been adding. I'm closing in on the GVWR of 5500lbs. I'm swapping the rear leafs to Allpro Expeditions and and the fronts have 700# springs. Have any of you weighed your truck or have estimates? Pics of your build would be helpful along with its weight.

Just had my truck weighed. 5020 pounds.

Edit: No one was in the car when it was weighed.

Not a lot of mods, bunch of tools. 4950 lbs when at the scrap yard. Thought my truck was getting heavy even before adding all the rest of the lift and stuff. Guess not to bad.

Now you have me thinking... I ran it across a scale awhile back and it was either 4550 or 5440. Shit. Might make a detour to the scale today. Not much extra weight in mods other than topper and winch with steel rope, but lots of tools and extras. Tires must add a fair amount - load E 33s. And the wood sleeping platform. And...

100' of 3/8" cable with attachments on each end, 2 - 2"x20' tow straps, 20' of heavy chain, 3 large shackles, 3 logging rated pulleys, my Warn X8000i on a removable cradle, shovel, pulaski, 3lb hammer, crow bar, come along, 4 way lug wrench, extra automotive fluids, Husky 550 XP (72d bar) with extra fluids, a sled and cross country skis (in winter), various lengths of rope, and a small plastic bottle of whiskey. The small stuff is in a milk crate, and everything fits under my sleeping platform. I also have a 60" all cast hi lift which nests beside the platform, and the off road base and lift mate.

This doesn't include the 2 sets of tire chains, socket set, wrench set, random tools box, retired climbing rope, rain gear, bottle jack (in addition to OEM jack), road flares, PB Blaster, window cleaner, roll of shop towels, and toilet paper that fits in my tool box/ dog bed where my access cab seats used to be. Then I shove a bunch of other stuff behind the front seats. This includes: framing hammer, wire fence tool, gallon of water (currently frozen:D), rifle scabbard (currently unoccupied), CB (because it's huge and old. I'll mount a newer smaller one eventually), and magnetic base antenna.

I won't bother to mention what I manage to stuff into my center console and glove box...

Yes, it all lives there and this is my daily driver. Dead critters are seasonal items :)

I'm at 5300 with 1/4 tank of gas and just my spare in the bed. I usually carry around a tool box as well. Can check out my build for specs.

fully armored, 4.88, 33 skinnies, tundra brakes, a REAL cold air intake.
That is unsprung weight and doesn't count against you in the GVWR. Your suspension also ups your rating.

Suspension doesn't change any rating of the truck. It simply allows it to handle the recommended weight better.

I don't believe so. I stepped off the scale to pay a bill. I get weighed when I have to go to the dump to throw stuff out.

I have added a winch since the last time I went, plus more recovery gear, tool box and stuff. Not unheard of to get these trucks to 6000lbs. I don't even have much shit in the bed like a cab or a rack.

Yeah, 6000lbs was my guess on some of the larger trucks builds I've seen on TacoWorld. I'd like to keep mine below GVWR with the bed unloaded atleast. If I can control my habit of adding/buying stuff. :anonymous:

I'm in the same boat as you. However I think if I regear it will make everything a little happier. Get some power back, less stress on tranny etc.

I still have some more armour to add on too. This site is the devil for buying stuff lol

That makes sense. My truck weights 5020 with a similar winch and front bumper plus 140# rocksliders, 350# rear bumper, 80# spare and 50# in tools and gear.

5600lbs without any extra gear yet. ( Camping gear, extra parts, etc )

Might be a bit more now that I have the LT in. Was going to get it weighed again this week.

That was with the plate. I should be a little lighter now.

I have been trying to lighten my truck for better fuel economy.

Gs anyone got a good source for helium? I think I know how to reduce my un-sprung weight...
