anyways to finish my story about the weekend. It rained all damn night and when we woke up it was 34 degrees and the rain drops on our tents were frozen. As soon as that sun popped up over the rocky peak it warmed up really fast. Our tents were dry by the time we packed up. We hung some paper targets 125 yards away and shot the rifle a few times. After that we explored some roads past the lake that I've never been on. One had a sign that said something like Boulder De Boux which dead ended at a spot you see in the picture below. After that we went and did that hill climb successfully. Was trying to take it easy on my rig because we were by ourselves up there all day.

That looks like somewhere near the outter boundary of the alpine lakes wilderness. The alpine area is open to the high buck hunt in September for 10 days. Lots of hiking and mountainous terrain. Most people use horses to access it but I've hiked in once.

How many miles on your rig @JDAM? Sounds injector related to me, they can be very temperamental when they start to fail.

Yeah, unlikely with that low mileage that it's an injector. Start cheap with the plugs.

Here is some pics I took from Saturday. Not a lot of pics, as it was raining cats and dogs. I felt cheated from the weather on Saturday, so I think I'm going to keep my tent on a little longer and try and get another camping trip in this fall.

    Airing down:

Stuck Discovery right below where we normally camp up top winching out. Not sure how he couldn't get out of this...

@busmup808 going up the hill climb. Not everyone has had success making it up this while it's dry, and being wet and muddy it was undoable. I think he could have made it with a couple more cracks at it, but by then we were all getting wet and decided to go explore elsewhere.

Fancy parking at the dead end that I think you were talking about @JDAM except we didn't have the awesome view you did on Sunday due to the weather.

Never hurts to give the truck a good "once over" after a season of wheeling. I think an air leak in the intake would lean out the whole engine and cause an idle issue. Hopefully it's not an electrical issue, but you could check the connectors/plug wiring. Could also be bad fuel?

I'd take it in for sure if you're still under warranty.

    With a p0300 you're misfiring on atleast 2 cylinders.

With your misfire being on 5 and 6 you can be fairly sure it's not a coil.

Checking for an intake air leak is pretty simple and would be my first step. With the engine off- disconnect a vacuum line, fire up a cigar, and blow smoke into the line. If there's a leak, you'll see smoke coming from it. If there's not, the smoke will come out at the air filter.

If no vacuum leak I'd replace plugs. If that doesn't work, I'd be looking at the fuel filter.

At 24k I wouldn't suspect anything like compression or fuel pressure issues...

Came home to a new pair of Kings this afternoon! I will get the truck to the fab shop in a few weeks to get them in and a new exhaust done. Just need to figure out what muffler to get that will fit in the little space I have left and not be too loud. Slow progress, but it's moving forward.

Paying a buddy with a home fab shop to make them fit. No other choices really.
