I can sympathize. I would have loved to have a 1st gen DC 4x4, but at the time of my quest for a vehicle they cost an arm and a leg.

Same here. But if the were not discontinued I think I could have ordered the SC from Toyota of Dallas for cheaper than paying retail locally. And then not shelled out the $400+ in taxes. I scored my fit kit off Amazon for $140.

5100's all around with OME 884 at 0. Weathertechs, Carhartt seat covers. BFG KO2's 265/70/17. T4R SEMA wheels. 18% tint on front windows. General Springs HD 4 leaf pack, Leer 100 XR shell.
getting rid of my 2003 SR5, 5 speed 2.7l. This one is fine but that was the best vehicle I've ever owned.

I bought a 2015 in July. The only regret is that I did NOT buy the used SofTopper on CL that popped up a few weeks later. I wish I had bought that topper.

I'm okay with the silver streak silver, but I kinda wish I would have held out for pyrite mica or magnetic grey.

Oh, and I should have gone with 285/70s instead of the 265/70s when I bought tires.

I'll have to get back to you. I'm still loving my '15 TRDORAC too much. Came from a '93 DLX extended cab I drove for 20 yrs if that tell ya anything. That '93 has been a great truck but it's an entirely different ballgame in a '15.

The two things I would have done differently is get a long bed because towing my ATV 4 hours each way is a pain the butt and sometimes I just don't have enough room. In addition the extra tolls I paid I've over the last 4 years would have covered the two things I wish I got when I purchased it. And I would have got the built in GPS just for the sake of convenience. I have a cap for the extra space and I love it but the trucks looks better with a tonneau cover.

I can understand that. If ever I needed two trucks it would be these two. My '93 still runs strong all day long. Alas, I really should whittle my vehicle collection down.

Well....There are a few advantages to being an old fart....By the time you get this far along, you begin to understand what it is you want out of a car or truck. I've owned long beds and short beds. I've owned regular cabs, extra cabs, and double cabs. I've had full sized and compacts and mid sized. I've had diesels and gassers.....Automatics and sticks.

So...11 months ago, when I went out truck shopping, I wanted a double cab, short bed, automatic, gas/v6, and I wanted the only truck I've ever had more than 3 of....Another Toyota. I wanted silver because it doesn't show dirt as bad as most colors.

    That's what I brought home.

My ONLY regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. Yep. Fanboy.....There, I said it.

Also not buying my truck in the Spruce Mica. Had to settle with the magnetic grey metallic but it was a compromise i was more than okay with lol.

Not getting the T4R. The taco is not road trip friendly. Ride is crap. Lots of vibration, even on smooth roads. I switched out stock rugged trails for KO2s. Ride is still the same as before...shitty.

That this won't be a forever truck. I am in a point in my career that I would like to just keep adding cars to the stable forever. Seeing how these cars rust away in a few, might get 10 years out of it. I like the truck, I don't like the quality.

Not getting front end wrapped in protective film immediately after buying.
