Okay 2015 DCLB TRD Sport 4x4 already has 5100's at 1.75 on stock springs with nothing in the back. Going to be a complete Mall Krawler, Live in New England so I think any spanner wrench type Coilover's are out of the question due to the salt and such. So what are people's opinions on the the pre set options like 5100/Eibach front kit from Toytec at the full 3 inches assembled. Or the 6112's fully assembled at 3 inches from Toytec? Going to get Camburg Ball Joint UCA's as well. Don't haul anything so maybe All Pro, or Dakars in the rear. I am thinking new leaf pack as my new 2015's are already starting to do a reverse c and I don't think and AAL like the Wheeler's or Icon ( Same thing ) progressive leaf pack will help fix that. So thoughts or questions? Also going to keep my stock Sport 17's with 265/70/17 Cooper AT3's on in the Winter, and TRD Bronze Fake Beadlocks with Cooper ST/MAXX 265/75/16 on in the Summer. No plans for 285's Thanks for the recommendations and feedback.

Mall Crawler: There is no need for you to go above 2.5" of lift in the front. A 3" lift is where some experience all the 'headaches' that come with lifting these trucks. Beyond UCAs to get your alignment back to spec you may experience drive line vibrations which some solve easily and quickly while others go on a Witch hunt to remedy. You asked for opinions so here is mine.

OME 885 coils in the front with 5100 shocks or the OME shocks that are meant to be used with OME coils. People use the Bilstein because they are cheaper then the OME shocks. If you use the 5100 series shocks they must be set at 0.

Dakar leafs in the rear with 5100 shocks or OME shocks.

    Carriage bearing drop kit.

Diff drop kit - some do it, some don't.

My setup is 885 coils with 5100s and a .5" AAL in the rear. I will be going to Dakar springs in the summer for the reason you mentioned above. Leaf spring sag.IMG_5523.jpg

lol. What the hell, I just realized you were the OP. I would not rely on preloading the springs for your lift, ride is said to be harsh. But you already know all of this......don't you?

Yes I do brother. I like it to be leveled so I figure if I go 3 inches in the front you only need 1.5 to 2 inches in the rear. My 2010 had the full 3 inches with new UCA's and a Toytec 1.5 AAL in the back. It was nice but AAL don't really do justice for saggy or revers C leaf springs in the long run.

So if the front gets lifted to 3" and you only need about 1.5" lift at the back to level it, and don't want an AAL for that, doesn't that = Deaver J59? The others, especially All-Pro, would lift it higher, yes?

Not sure don't know a lot about actual leaf packs.

EDIT: I meant to say don't rely on preloading the shocks for your lift, not the springs...

You can always go Dakar and remove the 3rd leaf...at least I think it's the third leaf you remove for less lift.

Yeah I have heard people remove the third leaf. This is still all up in the air, like you said don't know if I want all the headaches that come with it.

It would suck to be 'that guy' who does get the woes of lifting 3" or beyond. Especially if your truck is going to be used for nothing more then mall crawling, as mine is. I love my setup and have no reason to go any higher then the 2.5" lift that I put in my truck and the only reason I'm considering the Dakar leafs is because of the sag I do have when fully loaded for my camping trips. I may opt for something other then Dakars because I don't want to be the guy that has to deal with noisy springs which the Dakars are known for.

    Hard decision...

Where did you get the TRD Wheels?

Wheels is a secret, can't give out all my deals. Actually pieced the wheels together from different spots, tired are all from Discount Tire.

I'll probably end up getting these in either this colour or bronze. Not sure yet, or bend over and pay the price for the TRD ones. 16countersteer-gm-side-1050.jpg

lol. Thanks, I've seen those on that website. I don't know if I would get the bronze or the black TRD wheels. Not sure what bronze would look like on a white truck.

I had a 13 longbed before the current truck I have now. I put a 3" front 3" rear lift .....to maintain the rake. I didn't want it leveled.

My front was achieved with the 3" bilstien/ toytec coilover preassembled and the 1/4 spacer to fix the "taco lean." I also did total chaos upper control arms. Once you go to three inches, you should get upper control arms to help keep it properly aligned.

The rear was done with the Dakar leaf pack, bilstien 5100 extended travel shocks, and extended brake lines. ....once you hit a three inch rear lift or higher you'll need extended travel shocks and lines.

I also did the diff drop. I had a small humming noise/vibe....then added the carrier bearing drop and it went away.

If I did it again, I'd only get an upper control arm without an exposed ball joint. I live in Chicago so we see the same winters. The salt is no Bueno for those exposed ball joints and just leaves you vulnerable to having to swap them out once they go bad.
Also, just my opinion......265's on a lifted Tacoma to me looks horrible.....go 285's, you won't regret it. A pic of my 13

But they are not a threaded adjustable Coilover. Which I have seen corrode, rust, and make adjusting them a nightmare
