So it looks like we have enough to give this run a go!

When & Where: Hell Hole - Saturday November 7th - Sunday the 8th

Meeting: We'll meet at the Chevron in Auburn @ 8:30am Saturday the 7th and leave NO LATER than 9:00am

Take Exit 121 off HWY 80 onto Foresthill/Auburn Ravine Rd. Turn Right and you can't miss it
Address: 13381 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA 95603
From there we will caravan to Hell Hole, which is approx 2 more hours from here. For those driving far, feel free to come up Friday and meet us in the morning.

Let's prepare for the unexpected. This trail is a long ways off so bring plenty of food, water, clothing etc. Also bring anything extra you may have including warm gear, spare parts, recovery gear, etc.

Requirements: 33" tires minimum. Rock Sliders. Spare Tire.
Highly Recommended: At least one locker. Body Armor. Winch.

For those that don't know the trail, please see the links below. From what I remember, Hell hole is a little bit more difficult than the 2nd half of Slickrock. It's a tough trail, but very doable.
Last time we ran it with some FJ's and 1st gen Tacos and we made it through with some good body armor dings, but very minor damage beyond that. We did have to winch about half of us out of the last obstacle.
Link to last run at Hell Hole
Best video I could find of hardest obstacle

Those picture are bad ass! My truck isn't quite ready for those trails yet. Waiting on sliders and winch set up. I'll be ready for next summer!

Great trail. Short, dead-end trail and challenging. I used to do this when I was a member of a Jeep club. At the time, I had a built '84 4Runner. Since the trail is down-hill going in and up-hill going out, its tougher coming back.

Interesting. Subbed. Not committed, so not voted in the poll.

Well not much interest so far lol so we could use more drivers than anything. We'll see if anyone turns up during the week.

I want to go back to Hell Hole with my 80 but no skids or lift yet. Although my 80 on 295's stock has faired pretty well on everything I've thrown at it. Keeping tabs on this, I may join depending on dates and location decided. Last time was definitely fun but nerve racking. We all came home with some scars, some worse than others.

I'm interested. Though I'm open-open so I'm not sure how I would manage at Hell hole. @bmase11 remember when we camped at slickrock in the snow? Haha

if you have any of the cheap giant tents, all you need to do is to cut a hole in the top and install a stove jack. then just get a camp stove.

the way it works, most people just lay down pine branches on top of the compacted snow as a floor, then just throw the stove in, so it shouldn't be tough to do.

you can buy a wood stove for as little as $70 bucks

OK, I cast my vote for Nov 7&8 at Hell Hole.

We wouldn't need a big group for it to be successful. But it'd be nice if more folks came out of the woodwork.

Hmmm, I have a feeling something more than a stock rear bumper would be nice at Hell Hole..., but subbed for possibilities. I'm a maybe. Will be ordering hc rear before Xmas...

Well if you're getting a hc rear bumper you won't need those rear fenders anyways ;)

I had an 05 and that was the one of the best mods I did - so much extra clearance. Your rig is definitely capable but yeah you might scrap a little on the 1st obstacle

Tapatalk doesn't show polls, and i'm pretty sure bob's said it's no longer supported.

Until you can come back and look at the full site, the poll is:

oct 17/18 1 vote (this weekend - seems unlikely)
    oct 24/25 0 votes
    nov 7/8 2 votes

Alright we might actually have enough rigs to run Hell Hole.

@jqueener what weekend works for you? Looking like the 1st weekend of November unless people are flexible and wanna go next weekend.

@BudMan @GHOSTFJ @kalieaire - What do you guys think? Are we ready for a real test run? :stirthepot:
