yeah.. but thats no fun! lol

I want to be able to keep the bars clean and simple when the RTT isnt on, and when I do take the bars off, i can just loosen the bolts, rotate the bars, and they will lay flat against the bottom of the RTT for easier storage of the entire RTT.

I was meaning the bolts that come with the tent, each pair that straddles a cross bar, are they tied together on one T-nut making it a fixed center to center distance or are they on separate T-nuts so that the center to center distance is infinitely adjustable? Sorry for the confusion, I'm better at speaking words with my mouth than translating to typing! :D

ha! no worries. totally understand the talking vs typing.

they are separate, so adjustable to whatever width.

I have had that same design in my brain for quite some time my friend. IT's for sure going to be legit. There's actually a company I found that makes them, billet aluminum but they're about 130 bucks per clamp

Thanks for the info, just want to make sure if I machine some brackets up that they'll work without without a fuss when I get to CVT. After all it is a 15 hour drive there from home.

I'd be mounting it over the short bed on my Tacoma with a Thule rack.

Got mine mounted this weekend. Temporary setup until I have a rack built.

How did you get your poles (Holding up the rain fly) in on the side facing the cab?

I had to tweak them a bit to slide in the holes. I need to move the tent a few more inches toward the tail gate and they should be easily installed. Right now they rub slightly on the back of the cab.
