Seems they want to make reg cabs less and less desirable each year, then in a few years when they stop selling them in US and Canada they will cite lack of interest and sales.

We got our first 2009 in today. Silver double cab SR5. The tail lights are super homo(my opinion). The new radio looks good though. And for whatever reason, the fuel mileage rating jumped from 16/20 to 17/21. The one we recieved has the tundra stabilty control, auto lsd and six airbags(now standard), 6 disc changer with aux. jack for i-pod and has the silver steel base wheels. It has carpet mats added and what is called a shield package( includes rental car assistance, sealant cleaner and crap like that.) and the sticker price is $26,172. Not much of a jump at all from our 2008's.

one cool thing is technically the price of the tacoma has gone down. With the auto dimming mirror and back up camera and six air bags and the radio and etc etc.. we are only noticing about a 550-750 price increase. which all the new standard equipment is way more than that. and the reason for the fuel mileage increase is they are actually testing and not estimating like on the 2008 models. the truck itself is being tested not jsut the engine. example the fj reads 16/20 as well as the 4runner. now the tacoma reads 17/21. we got a 2nd one in and its a another silver but its a trd sport.. the headlights are nice but other than that there is no real no difference. the sport we have is 4x2 and its jsut over 28K.

Very cool. I am still on the fence for financial reasons as I have a good vehicle for work and probably wont be able to get much for it and not sure how long the oil boom will last. Thanks again for the updates and info.

Is it just me, or does the Barcelona Red look pretty much the same as Radiant Red? I have an appointment with a dealer for an '08 on the 23rd, but I think I'm going to wait because of all the new standard equipment on the '09s.

Ha, no, I'm meeting the fleet manager, he was referred to me through the Internet Sales guy. I'm going to walk into the dealership and ask to see him before the vultures swoop down on me.

not the topic..but..yes we do work by appointment. it is very irritating when you try to make an appointment to make things run smoothly but people show up when they want because they think they are bad a$$ and know everything. :) But if any one here ever needs any help or advice buying.. just ask. glad to help.and who ever that was that said they are gonna wait for the 09 becuase of the standard features.. great idea. but wait a while if you can because untill the dealers are rid of the 2008 model there will be no cash back from toyota. So to get any incentives from Toyota on the 2009 you are prolly gonna have to wait atleast till August. But..if you want a great deal the rebates on the 2008 are the biggest they are gonna be at $2000.

I got my truck with the internet sales guy. I had negotiated my truck and price before I ever saw him. When I got there I only spent time signing papers and test driving my specific truck. It was such fun to see the sales guys smile go to a look of disappointment when I told him he'd be of no help as I had already arranged everything with the internet guy. Never buying a truck the old way again.

Black Access 4x2 SR5 package. Little frustrating as I originally sent an email inquiry which was followed up on in 45 minutes by phone from sales manager and by email in minutes. As I'd already done all my research, I just went in a few days later to sign/give deposit. That was almost 3 weeks ago...

Since then, it's been waiting game with me having to make the phone call rather than them being pro-active.

Anyway, I'm excited since it's my first new car ever and I'm looking to make some quick upgrades re: wheels/tires, truck box (I can finally get all the crap out from behind), tonneau cover. I'm likely to wind up with one of the cold air intakes/exhaust packages as well.

LOL I've been waiting over 3 months for my 08. Now I'm on the fence about getting a truck. May go for a more fuel efficient xB. I know its no truck.
Damn why can't a truck be more affordable?

Picking up my '09 Access Cab tomorrow. Surprised to see the back-up camera and auto-dimming rear view installed as they are part of the x-runner package and we got the SR5 package only...
