Looking good Ragin, thanks for sharing.

Nick, The brackets have more beef, so they are longer, but the holes are the same distance apart. You won't gain any lift from the stock length shackles.

You won't gain articulation by changing the shackle. It's just an HD shackle. In fact you might lose a teeny tiny bit because it won't bend and flex (fold in half) like the factory shackle!
To gain any appreciable articulation without changing the springs you have to flip the shackle to go the right way. (Jonny Joints don't make a big difference either)

Maybe with the stock setup, I've never looked at that. But on the stock setup a 1 inch longer shackle will also lower the truck.

With a shackle flip you won't see a difference in travel with a longer shackle. The 3.5" shackle is long enough for full spring articulation. It would just change the height from the frame that the articulation occurs at.

Extended inverted shackles would be super weird… And that is the actual technical term for it. I think that it would actually lower your truck.

… So you want the carrying capacity and articulation of an expedition spring but have the truck ride at stock height? That sounds kind of counterintuitive… But that is just my opinion

My mistake. I read no additional lift as stock height. If you want the same height and more articulation I would recommend removing a leaf from your pack which will lower the truck and then flipping the shackles which will lift the truck and balance it out to the original height you have now with more articulation. Just a thought.

The shackle angle with it being a compression shackle results in a rising rate as is the stock tension shackle correct?
