Call Nassir and Bryan - their cards are attached. Nassir is the Internet sales manager, and Brian is the inventory manager. Both have bent over backwards getting me information, and explaining how Toyota does things. They were also there when it was Champion Toyota before they were infected by the AutoNation virus, which is why that dealership isn't like othe AutoNation stores.

Tell them that "The Captain" told them to hook you up. They've been dealing with me since January!

Nassir is my salesman! :) I sent him another inquiry today as he didn't contact me last week as he said he would. I don't think there's any news so probably why I haven't heard from him.

That's often the case. My issue was build quantity and allocation percentage. Toyota was only going to build so many of the 7172 with tech packages (DCLB TRD Sport, loaded). No matter what I wasn't getting a build date. Dropped the JBL and suddenly got a build date of December.

Ironically, Nassir just texted me pics of a Blazing Blue TRD OR this morning, just trying to feed my need. All I want is my truck and keys. 9 weeks. Just gotta wait nine more weeks.

So I stopped by the local dealership this afternoon to take a look at the 2016's again and was really surprised by their inventory. They had about 15 in stock ranging from SR5's to TRDOR's. Since I pretty much had the lot to myself, I decided to take a few comparison shots for you guys. I tried to get as level as possible for these:

    Front / Grille Comparison:

Front Height / Hood / Grille:

    Rear / Tailgate Comparison:

    Bed Comparison:

Just for shits and gigs, this is just a portion of their inventory:

And the color of this TRD Off Road was awesome:

For non-test drive thoughts / comparisons:

    • The Crome grille of the TRD's looks better in person, the black grille of the SR's looks worse in person. I still prefer the look of the 2012-2015 models the most, but the 2016's do look good in person.
    • The interrior really feels/looks like a vehicle built in 2016. It feels modern and reminded me a lot of the 2015 F150 interrior. I don't know how I feel about the control layout and the dashboard does not really flow well. It almost felt like the drivers side of the dash was modern and the passenger's side was a complete afterthought left over from the previous gen. The seats were also less comfortable and stiffer than the 2nd gen TRD seats.
    • View from the driver's seat somehow felt better than in the 2015. I just felt like I could see more around me. Unfortunately the hood seems to be much taller in relation to the bottom of the windshield and it really felt like my lower vision was obstructed.
So yes, I do like the 2016's. They really changed the look but definitely kept that Toyota image. That said, I have absolutely zero regrets about buying a 2015 as opposed to the 2016.

I spent a couple hours on the phone with that specific dealer (30 min) from me on saturday trying to buy the trd sport dclb they have. They would not budge and actually used the line that they were selling above MSRP. I submitted my USAA pricing certificate and they STILL said the usaa price was higher than MSRP, by about $500

Could not agree with you more. Test drove the SR5.... Which was OK, but not great. Also drove a Sport and that was nice. I think the grille looks way better in person, and fits very nice with the Silver Sky body color. Going to test drive the OR when they get one in in a few weeks.

I've bought both of my Toyotas from Rivertown. In my experience, it's all in the salesman. When I bought the Prerunner, my salesman was Jarvis and he barely knew anything about the vehicle I was buying. He also didn't work overly hard to get me a good deal, he was just passing along paperwork from management.

When I bought the TRD, my salesman was Kevin Greene, and I highly recommend him. Granted I know he's a salesman, but he negotiated tooth and nail with me to get down to ballparks I was looking for. Also his post-sale follow ups and service have been wonderful.

That said, a killer deal from Rivertown doesn't appear to be the same as a killer deal that some of the other guys on this website get. I guess it's all in the pricing for the region, but from what I've seen Rivertown does have the best pricing when compared to Opelika or LaGrange.

There's already a recall on the bolts on the airbag mounts.

    The knee airbag mounts.

At least it not the recalls my Ram 2500 has had for both the curtain and drivers airbags accidentally going off . Either of those would hurt a lot more.

So ARB told me they are waiting for their 3rd gens to arrive for them to do testings. The guy told me they are hoping the old bumper would bolt on so they'd have to just do some cosmetic changes.
