The 2015 brochure mentioned leather and softex. I have no clue - do they not know what to call it? It's either leather (i.e. from a dead animal) of fake leather (Softex). Sounds like a lot of bullsh!t on Toyota's part.

Mingo: I was wondering the same thing, what does the Limited have over the Sport plus upgrade, well from my dealer:

Roughly $3600 between the two packages. Your getting the following extra on the Limited.

-Better Navigation with JBL Premium Audio system

    -7 Speakers

    -Full Leather Seats

    -Clearance and back up sensors

    -Anti Theft System

-17 Alloy wheels(style is different) with touring tires

    -Chrome Mirrors

    -Chrome Grill

    -Chrome Side Step Bars

Still not sure on the Tonneau cover though.

In my opining the Tonneua cover should be included, you can always sell it and get what you want after. And the leather better be real, 50K truck should not have pleather.

Had my 2013 Camry in for oil change today in north end of Toronto so I wandered the dealer to see if any 16's were in yet.

They only had 1 new Tacoma on the lot, a black 4x4 AC Auto 4-cyl SR5. I didn't test drive it because I'm interested in a V6 DCSB TRD SPORT with 6 speed manual. I did have a long look at it though, and sat in it.

    Observations on this particular truck.

Built in Texas, checked the door data.

Interior: Nicely updated, modern dash. Seats felt the same as a '15 to me. Lumbar on even the SR5 is nice, but no seat height adjustment likely annoying if I owned it. I'm 6'4" and put the seat all the way back, reclined just a bit and found a comfortable position with the wheel fully telescoped towards me. No sunroof on this model and adequate headroom wearing a baseball cap. The sunroof may be a deal breaker for people as tall as me on other models. Keeping in mind this was a base 4x4 model, the materials on the inside door panels seemed a bit cheap, and the driver's door didn't close with what I'd call typical Toyota smoothness, but it was fine.

Exterior: I'm a sucker for a black vehicle, and from far away, the SR5 looks awesome to me. First time seeing the big grille in person, and i've warmed to the design. I am amazed how far back into the vehicle the radiator is from the front of the bumper/grille... it's like a foot back. Definitely a big snout on this girl. Once I got up close and touched/felt the quality of the bumper/foglight assembly, I was really disappointed. There's a ton of really cheap black plastic that feels flimsy. Particularly the foglight surrounding piece and the actually grille itself. I know a lot of cars feel this way now, but given what this truck retails for, I feel that it's unacceptable. The MSRP's are rising and Toyota is making them feel cheaper in a lot of ways. If you hit even a tiny bird it would destroy those plastic bits. Maybe it's a bit better on the TRD/Limited, but that's serious $ to pay for flimsy stuff.

Under the hood: the 4-cyl looks a bit small for that engine compartment but based on past Tacoma's I've looked at, nothing jumped out at me as all that different.

I really like that the SR5 fenders are colour keyed. I really like the tailgate, nice to final have dampening. So yeah, there are nice new features on the '16... even on the base truck.

Overall, I just don't know if I'll be able to afford one until the spring at the earliest, let alone justify the $45,000 out the door I expect my desired Tacoma looks like it'll cost. Damn this CDN dollar.

    Only took 1 photo.

You can thank Harper for that along with the poodle he appointed as the Governor of the Bank of Canada.

You blame Harper for low oil prices or our small manufacturing sector that no party has had much luck growing in relation to the rest of the world? Honestly the dollar was far worse under the last regime. The dollar only climbed this high because of the surge in oil price and speculation during the current government.

Let's keep this to trucks. The Canada BS thread is great for Harper rants, or PM @OZ-T. You two can be buddies :p.

Trust me, the US rollout of the site was much worse... they sold the truck for like a week before you could even build and price one.

I saw a thread where that tonneau cover actually requires modification of the box to install it. The top ledge of the box looked like crap wit it removed.

And.... because the present Governor said, after he was appointed from Harper's staff I might add, that he was "comfortable" with a low Canadian Dollar.

Guess what happened after he said that, and, he said it well before oil tanked.

Thanks for the info. Please see if you can confirm with your dealer if the tonneau cover is included with the CDN Limited model.

It's a lot of $$ for what you get in the Limited. Oh well, if you want it, you gotta pay.. or vote with your dollars somewhere else.. It might take me 2 years to get my head wrapped around the Limited price... :D

Okay. I guess he had control over all of the trading that sets the value of the dollar too.

Our dollar is resource value driven and a pawn of the world economy. It always has been and always will be. The only way to control it is to use the interest rates to slow the flow of money. If you are in favor of that you'd best be prepared for some tough times no matter who is in power.
