Don't want to derail the thread, but can someone tell me, give me one legitimate reason why someone would need 55 gallons of personal lube....I don't understand.

You mean like cutting interest rates like he did against the advice of all leading economists in Canada and then telling the Automotive Manufacturing Sector in Ontario that they were not going to like the terms of the new Trans Pacific Agreement?

Wow, now aren't we are on a tangent. I'M VOTING PC, YOU MAD BRAH?

In all honestly, looking at the US price increases, for most models we didn't even see as high a price increase as the dollar would suggest. Maybe we got lucky, maybe Toyota is saving it for next year, but one things for sure: No amount of soap box one line political statements is going to change what Toyota is doing by very much with pricing.

Ok, now that's over, let's get back to trucks. I think that's what we were talking about.

I was considering getting one at the end of next year. Probably wont now if they aren't making the double cab off road.

Great. Now we have a party that talks fiscal responsibility but won't release a budget and tried to give themselves the largest per year raise in something like a decade. Employers with many people at or near the minimum wage are trimming hours so that their employers can get them used to making even less money. So things are just peachy. I can see how with my higher tax rate, and likely after the expected inflation bump next year, even less money coming in to my household which is super as costs go up. At least Orange crush tastes good I suppose.

That's not too bad. That's basically "normal" Toyota haggling for those who try. I'd feel good about that on a 2016.

We have dealers in Calgary who refuse to deal on 2015 Tacomas still. Basically 0 discounts.

Whose the best and worst in Calgary? I know a lot of trucks I see seem to come from Country Hills Toyota. I really like dealing with Cochrane on parts. I've never tried talking to any of the other dealers. One day, if I go with a 3rd gen eventually, I will be pricing out the dealers up there and would be curious to hear the take of someone who sounds like they've been looking for a deal lately.

I've never bought through them (did have warranty word done and ordered parts) but Henniger Toyota advertises a 24 hour test drive. My folks bought a Honda from a dealership like this and frankly it's the only way to go.

I bought my Tundra at Stampede, but I knew a one of the managers at the time and got CCC invoice + $500. From what I hear typically for best deals people go to High River or Cochrane since their "overhead" is smaller and therefore they are inclined to deal more.

I doubt they would let me drive a Tacoma 2 hours back to my house and let me return it the next day after the same drive back. However, yes, the 24 hour test drive idea is awesome. The local Saturn dealer used to do it when they were in business and people seemed to really like it.

If you are going to go off topic pick one you know something about. Obama did the auto parts deal as a side deal without telling anyone. Harper pulled his negotiators and only went back to the table after changes were made. Had he not the auto parts sector would have been in Thialand. Mulcair and Trudeau would have just bent over for their fellow leftist. The NDP types are getting their ass handed to them in this election and no doubt will blame Harper for that too.

On topic I mentioned the $51K number to the wife and all she said was, "I told you so." and then mentioned all trucks were going up. Maybe the 2016 still has a chance. Now where is that grease can?
