LOL. votes is one thing. In following this thread page for page there is a lot of defending and promoting of the Ford. But as i can see its for good reason. The op wanted to know everyone's opinion. He's sure gettin an earful.

The point is why this thread as gotten so much attention and basically gone "full retard" and back a bunch of times, when the majority of other threads with real Taco questions go ignored.

Like some one else said, there seems to be like 3 guys that can't stop pushing the F150 in here....which is fine...I just think it's gotten silly.

So basically you are upset because the F150 versus Tacoma thread is focused on F150's and dragging three people away from important critical other 2016 arguments like why is the nose of the truck so big? I recommend you let yourself out and pretend this thread never existed. Then you'll be happy.

Any conversation is good conversation when it applies to the thread. If people don't like the thread, well they can always leave. I don't see the "three" Ford people holding guns to anyones head.

If you want to interpret the word "silly" for "upset" go for it...but that's about as weird as dwelling on a F150 Taco comparison...lmao

    .
Oh, and yes, the nose of the truck is a very critical argument, be cause we fear Toyota may have fucked up our beloved truck...that's pretty serious. LOL I imagine if something like that happened to the F150 you'd be going off the hook about it....but Ford would never do that, they like to keep the boring-as-hell look going, so no real threat of them trying something too different with the design. :)

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
Seatbelt bracket Mike ? Is that You ?
    Well in short :
The reason why most of 3rd gen threads go "Full retard" because 3rd Gen is at best mediocre with a lot of stupid for a lot of money.
And its very hard to defend stupid. So couple people gets their Vagina all in bacterial infection anybody mentions that POS reincarnation of a truck.
Now if Toyota made great job all conversations should look like that.
"Hey my new 3rd Gen Tacoma has class leading tow capacity"
"hey lets see what you carry with a truck with class leading payload"
"How about this I finally hit 37 MPGs with my Tacoma"

    Instead what we have:
"Hey Colorado has leading towing, but the resale on Tacoma, resale dude"
"Oh look the payload on Canyon is great, but the resale on Tacoma, resale dude"
"Oh look GM has a recall, wow that GM is crap, our recall after month in production is just silly, because GM recall was software and ours is bolts"
    :D

Oh and for popularity of F150 thread, its not bad truck. Its FORD but still better than 3rd gen Tacoma.

So three more posters talking about the snout of the Tacoma is the tipping point for Toyota to care?

It is funny hearing a Tacoma fanboy call the F150 look as boring as hell though . I guess complete redesigns are too boring for Toyota ;)

I think you forget I OWN BOTH TRUCKS lol. I like both. I'm not sure on the 2016. I like the look TBH, but the rest will need to prove itself up to it's name badge.

I think this has been a pretty good thread, well, at least up to this point. A lot of good discussion and people giving their opinions on real world experience. That's what the OP asked about. He certainly has a lot of information to make a decision on what's best for him.

No one expects Toyota to care! LOL, it's just a discussion like this one. I do love the 2nd Gen..... but far from a fanboy, since i never even onwed one...the only trucks i owned was a small hilux in the early 90s. and a Ford Bronco....The old Broncos were so much cooler than the boring ass F150!

Dude, I like the F150s, they are fine....but to men, they are are sooooo over done..it's like a pop song that every one likes and becomes annoying as hell cause it's every where always.

I recommend you stay away from California then. Every second vehicle there is a Tacoma, or at least that was my impression when I was last there.

Yup. It was good conversating until someone had to claim full retard and end up driving the thread full retard.

Well, I guess his mission is accomplished.

I won't be buying the GM twins or the new Taco...I agree with some of what you say....but the Canyon and Colorado drive pretty pussy-like themselves.... It's a shame to me that the 4Rs blasts the shit out of the new Taco and they are from the same manufacturer. And it's almost sad to see the 2nd gens all disappear from the lots. With that said, let's talk about the F150....everyone has one... they're sellin' like hot-cakes...we should all get one too! lol

I just wish GM would come up with something a little more exciting then the 5.3 L for power yet better than the 6.2 L for fuel economy. Hopefully they can do so soon.

So it's okay if something is overdone locally, but not nationally. I need clarification on this :D.

I kinda like it, I don't need huge power...arguably one of the best engines out there. If it ain't broke... ;)

It seems like it is not okay for me to not like the F150 in anyway shape or form...that is what is seems like. I'm in tacomaworld and prefer the tacomoa over the F150....go figure

I like the older 5.3's, before DOD or whatever you want to call cylinder deactivation. This new one isn't the same beast as the old one. Almost a whole new engine to be honest and I haven't heard a bunch of great things about it.
