Makes sense. My STi is double my Tacoma in insurance cost and I'm the lowest step you can be. Jealous of the Scirocco! My cousin's was an 85 and was red. It was exactly this:

 

Beats the hell out of my first car. I had one of these:

Red exterior...red seats...red dash, red carpet, red EVERYTHING...
Couldn't kill it, though. Jumped it more times than I care to think of, the 13 inch tires could be replaced every fall for under $100, and it was a tank in the snow. Plus it had a backseat that was big enough for...things. And if you didn't care about thumping bottom now and then (and you were careful with the throttle) it'd take you places a car had absolutely no business being in. Can't say as I miss it, per se, but sometimes I miss the feeling I had when I drove it.

 

My first car was a 90 IROC convertible. That was a fun car

Couldn't get out of it's own way, but it handled like it was on rails and looked pretty good for an Accord in my opinion.

 

My first car was an '89 Cutlass Caleigh, it was a POS. Got a Ranger shortly after because it kept quitting on me.

 

Calais..haha I had an '86. POS burned oil and 6 months in the distributor croaked on it. Sucked b/c it wasn't a bad looking car and I did like it..2 door blue.

My first car was a '79 Stang notchback. Red, bottom half the doors/fenders black, the red plastic double bladed wipers everyone had then, black stripes on the hood, loud as hell. 4 banger beneath the hood

 

My first car pretty much looked like this. A 1990 Chevy Lumina. V6 and power everything.

 

1st car! not the one I owned but looked identical.

 

My first car was a 2000 XJ8, then my 4Runner

 

Actually my 1st car (that I put on the road) was a '75 Maverick

Woah flashback!
My first car was a Mercury Comet like the Ford Maverick.
Than a Chevy Chevelle in Sea Mist Green that got totaled,
next a Dodge Aspen my father bought me using my own $$ while I was in the Army

He was so happy, I wasn't so much that Aspen was a dog & I wanted a truck.
I did just recently pick a very low mileage 95 VW Cabrio (51k) from a guy at work.
He had bought for his wife new & she didn't like driving stick, saw no winters.
Yeah it's not a S2000 but the price was right & it was minty.

 

You guys must be a tiny bit older than me. Here's my first car next to my second car. Before the 3 series my sister and I shared a 98 neon

 

I had a black 81 Scirocco S when I was working at the dealer. I put the 16 valve tear drop wheels on it with P600 tire and it cornered like it was on rails. I still wish I had it back in my driveway.
