Arrived a couple of days earlier than anticipated. Drove it home and truck was very comfortable.
But not all was blue ribbons and gold medals. First of all the power delivery from a stop is sub par to put it nicely but I can see why this is. Toyota's effort at improving fuel economy is quite obvious, but once rolling it is smooth as silk.
Shifts very nicely, and passes effortlessly. I think folks are somewhat confused as to the lack of power from a stop. It's not that the power isn't there, it's just not there intentionally. It's obviously all in the way Toyota mapped it. Because if you actually stomp down on the go pedal, this baby has some get up and scoot.
The stereo, AC, info screen and control knobs are all very nice, though audio volume is not as loud as I would have thought. I will say I didn't opt for the JBL tech pack, but the Entune set up in my wife's car sounded a bit better. The drive home (1 hour highway and 20 minutes urban) was very comfortable and interior is very quiet. Suspension was nice and though I'm 5'4'' and 165lbs, seat height and reach to controls was perfect.. at least for me. All in all very happy and satisfied with my purchase..
I will say this truck is set up to tow. But folks be realistic, that's not it's primary reason for being. It's a toy. A toy that can haul day to day necessities be it for a camping trip, grocery store, Lowes, Costco, ect.. This will not tow your 30 foot trailer and like it. I for one do actually offroad. No I don't rock crawl, but do trail whenever I can. Anyways on to the pics..

Edit: 10-18-15 - Have driven the truck with ETC engaged and truck feels totally different. acceleration and power from a dead stop is much improved. Total night and day difference. I don't really hot rod at all but the difference is significant.. Just thought I would add that..

The Tan Can waiting for us..

Awesome, congrats on your truck! I'm super jealous as this is the exact truck I'm waiting for. I love this color and was stoked when my salesman called the other day and was able to change mine to Quicksand. Keep posting pictures and updates as I still have about 6 weeks until mine arrives.

Very nice truck. Quicksand is an extremely attractive color, and I'm counting the days until mine is delivered. I feel kind of cheated with this whole one month delay phenomenon. Thanks Toyota.

The quicksand color is definitely the best color to match the black overfenders. Very nice look.
