Got the new springs put on my truck on Monday. Dealership got permission from Toyota Corporate to put them on prior to the 2016 rollout stated in the latest recall letter. Springs are a huge improvement. Axle wrap is greatly reduced, but not entirely eliminated. That being said I don't have much to compare them to. When I bought my 2005 Tacoma last year the springs were worn out, and they got progressively worse over the last year and a half. If I had driven a Tacoma with Deaver, Alcan, All Pro, etc. springs in the past I would have something to compare them to.

Yours were not broken? Did you just ask them to change them?

So this is the remedy for the spring recall?

If so. I just hope the new springs are better that the originals.

The fix is a new 3+1 leaf pack with new hardware and bushings. I hope these will work better than the old ones.

Are the 3+1 from this recall different from the old 3+1 TSB springs?

No, not by any significant means what so ever..... they will sag and get floppy over time just like the rest of em. Just not as quick as the original 2+1 leaf packs.

Don't really know how much they are different. I'm assuming that since the old ones are recalled, the new ones should be different, but only time will tell I guess.

The service manager that initiated the work order wasn't there the day I got the springs replaced and the other service guy was having trouble trying to print the paperwork. Told me they would mail me the paperwork. The springs do have a sticker on the top with a bar code and part number, might be hard to read but i'll try.

I'm a little jealous, I've been asking my dealer to replace them since the first recall letter last year and they keep saying "there's no remedy yet"... maybe I"ll just keep annoying them until they give in.

Do your new leafs have a sticker with a part # on them? I'd like to compare part #'s with the leafs they just put on mine a couple months ago.

Edit: I didnt see a couple posts above 08trdoffroad asked for the part #'s and in the first pic, I see where there might have been one ripped off.
