Interesting that you say that, because when my friends and I were broke we were using DDM and they all went out within 6-12 months and DDM wasn't willing to honor their warranty. They didn't directly say it but after multiple attempts at trying and getting no response we gave up.

Sooner or later I want to upgrade the fogs and maybe the highbeams. Im not sure HID high beams would be good for using as passing lights so Im on the fence about that. May just put my HID kit into my fogs since they can be used without headlights now and the wide angle ones are set up for a 55w bulb

Weird. I have used their HID kits in almost all of my vehicles and only had 1 issue with my 2011 Mazdaspeed 3 where the lights got a green glow after about 9 months of use. I took them down to their HB location and they turned them on and saw the green glow and replaced them right on the spot.

    2008 Silverado
    2010 HHR
    2011 Mazdaspeed 3
    2013 Camry

also have them in friends vehicles over roughly 2 years now
    2005 Accord
    2011 Mazda 3
    2014 Accord

and no problems. I guess its just the luck of the draw with them.

I think I want to do the fogs first because they look like shit. Does anyone know what temperature is closest to the stock DTRL? 6000K??

Depends on who you talk to and the application. HID may be better in a projector housing unless the projector is specifically made with LED. LED has longevity and takes very little power to operate. 5000 -6000 is bright white. Any higher and you start going blue until you reach purple. From Manny's test, the LED showed light dispersement covering a large area but the Halogen bulb actually had farther concentrated reach so there may be some give and takes between the two. I cannot comment on HID but since it closely resembles the Halogen i would say it will have a drastically farther reach thatn Halogen in the projectors.

Cool, thanks for explaining! Now could I use the same led dome light on the 3rd gen from the 2nd gen?

The HID will throw its light similar to the Halogen. The LED technology can't make the light emit from one source so it's harder to know if the LED will project correctly in the housing

LED headlights while they are nice, don't give you as good of a direction of light as halogen or HIDs will in a single projector housing or reflector housing. If you notice on vehicles that come with LED lights standard or as an option, they will have multiple projector housings so they can control where the light is being projected to give you the same direction of light as say a halogen or HID.

They will be fine. The ballasts get power straight from the battery. The extra heat is negligible. Been running 50w in my other car's stock projectors for years.

50w HIDs is so overkill. There is no need to go over 35w unless you are off roading with no light bars. 50w is just blinding to others.

I would say 5000K, had LED DTRL's in a Rogue I was driving and the VLEDS 5000K Fog Bulbs matched perfectly.

50 watts won't automatically make more heat than a halogen or be too hot for your projector. The increased wattage can be turned into light, like you want, and not into heat. All the wattage, energy, is turned into heat, sound, light, or light you can't see.

I may opt for HIDs, but I hate all the wiring hassles and the multiple components that can fail.
