Correct. Though then you would need a second alignment, which costs more. I'd just do it all at once if you are sure you want to go that high.

I did it for 58k miles.... ride quality sucks though. Once you switch out the UCAs and get your caster right then its much better

Not necessary. The reservoir adds additional oil capacity, which allows the shock to run cooler in high/rapid suspension cycling, which helps prevent shock fading. This is most common in Baja style racing. Daily driver, FS roads, low speed trails will not see the benefit.

Light Racing UCA's are the most economical. Is there anything wrong with these UCA's? My 15 is not a wheeling truck yet. It's only 6 months old.

Ive heard a lot of mixed things about the light racing UCAs. I do not think the OE style ball joint is as strong as the uniball setup on the total chaos, all pros, or similar arms..... Do it only once in my opinion.... you will wheel it soon enough:stirthepot:

So you would definitely recommend getting long travel front and rears?

LR UCAs will correct the alignment issues but are not a real upgrade. Total Choas or others with the uniball are stronger and will provide increased travel.

I would go Total Chaos for the travel increase myself, as I would want the full suspension benefits of new UCAs. But I think the ball joint being a weak spot is overkill for what most people on this site do with their trucks.

Tacoma SS, If you want to go with Icon, I'd call any one of the online retailers and ask for the Icon Stage 3 kit with Tubular UCAs. It comes with 2.5 non-resi coilovers, rear 2.0 resi shocks, a 1.5" progressive AAL (gives 2" with stock overload left in), and tubular UCSs. It runs around $2,800 with free shipping and contains all the parts that you'll need.

What about the Dakar leaf springs that were recommended earlier?

Absolutely. There's no reason not to if you can afford it.

Downsouth Motorsports will get you a smoking deal on shocks and control arms. They can get most rear springs too.

Dakars are great if you haul a lot or carry constant weight like a fiberglass cap or recovery gear, but they're very stiff and harsh. If I was spending close to $3k on suspension, I would want softer leafs.

Travel will remain the same regardless of after market UCA design (uniball vs. balljoint) as they are not the limiting factor for droop. Just wanted to clear that up. As far as pairing the LR UCAs with extended travel COs, the LR UCAs will support the addition extended length and are an affordable option over uniball UCAs.

Toyota states the ball joint as the limiting factor for droop on Baja and TRD Pro extended travel suspension, and says further travel can be had by replacing the UCA. If the LR UCA is using an OE style ball joint as they say, I would expect the same issue, unless I am missing something?

After further reading wheelers site does say "The ball joint that is used in these arms is stronger than a factory ball joint and provides more travel without binding compared to a factory joint." Although they don't quantify 'more travel' like Total Choas does.
