Toyota changed my oil for free a few times and managed to cut up my fan belt and drain my S/C coolant on separate occasions. For the health of my truck I do them myself. I believe the going rate for synthetic oil changes here is now over $100.

Does the customer get the lube before or after paying? Because after is just wrong.

What's the Toyota part number on that lube? I'm sure some people might need it after they pay for their first synthetic oil change from Toyota as well.

Depends on your view of things.

For people paying cash or for people who don't mind spend 50K on a Tacoma it's fine. Congrats to those people and in no way should they feel ripped off or butthurt. However, for the guys who were waiting around for a 2016 because Toyota said the price wasn't going up "that much":

meh, wouldn't bring it to the dealer anyways.

even when my jetta was still under warranty I didnt bring it. hell there were certain things I had fixed that would've been under warranty that I still paid for. Only cause I learned how warranty works.

there is no rule saying they have to fix it with new parts. they can use used parts. as long as it works. I had the fix two things. it broke again down the line. still under warranty. I talked to my mechanic about it and just got him to do it. It honestly saved me money. I need my car to get to work etc. so having the off time of needing to bring it to the dealer during their hours of 9-5 would actually cost me more from missing work than just going by my mechanics shop after work and paying him to do it right the first time.

Fair enough. Whatever works. I've had warranty work done at Lethbridge Toyota and they honestly have a good shop. They just have a crappy lube bay and I feel safer working on my own truck.

    ya then I could understand.
Its really only the limited thats ridiculously overpriced.

I wasn't looking at the tacoma that much prior to the 2016 release. and besides that my other option that I've been looking into is more money, less fuel efficient and on premium, more money on maintenance, and not as versatile. So to me I'm saving money by looking at one. I'm pretty much sure of it I will be buying it in a few months, just want to save up some more money for a good down payment...as long as I dont suddenly start seeing a ton of negative reviews.

I was asked not to return to one of the dealers cause I got into a huge fight with their service department when they tried to tell me the check engine light was because I needed an oil change. The thing they didn't know is I own the exact same software they use for diagnostics. I know whats wrong with it before it was even brought to them. They also tried to tell me that tires that were 89H rated where ok when the sticker on the door alone says 91H. I had so many issues with Yorkdale VW they are absolutely terrible when it comes to service. Its funny their parts department are all really smart and really know their stuff, but the service department and managers are absolutely fuckin stupid pieces of shit. I'd never go back to them.

My mechanic I go to originally worked for Pfaff (one of the most well known euro tuning and performance names in ontario) at one of their porsche dealers. I trust him with my car, would never trust VW. One of my friends even works for VW as a tech and he's told me most of the guys there are braindead.

But my sister, grandmother and my girlfriends mother all swear by toyota being great reliable cars. And a few of my buddys have old tacoma and they all love them. They have said if you are actually doing hailing etc then ya go full size truck but for a midsize (which is all I need) they all say they are by far the greatest

New MPG, including sitting in city traffic for at least 1/4 of the drive. 11.7 L/100 km which is 20.10 US MPG. I'm happy with that.

Thanks 8102, I was there today and played in it like a kid. They were not able to get my plates today due to them not having the work order open, no PDI etc. It will all be done early tomorrow so I can pick it up after work :) Can't wait to start driving it. I sold my other vehicle so it is getting cold riding the motorcycle everyday to work!!!!!

Yeah I am in the same boat as you, sold my vehicle and have been patiently waiting for the 2016's to come to Canada.

My Limited is suppose to be ready for pickup on Saturday. Can't wait!
